Brett Kavanaugh refuses to shake the hand of the dad of a child murdered at the Parkland shooting. [joemygod.com]
Wow, security is really lacking if anyone can walk up to a potential Supreme Court justice during a Senate hearing.
Kavanaugh looked confused and scared during this situation which I initially didn't blame him for. I would have the same facial expression as him if a stranger walked up to me during a job interview and tried to shake my hand. HOWEVER, according to the the father, he was introduced to Kavanaugh by Senator Feinstein, so Kavanaugh knew who the father was. He might have still been confused by the approach but that's no excuse to not shake the man's hand.
@PalacinkyPDX I think he did walk up to him out of nowhere though. haha. But, yeah, I know what you're saying, and I agree with you that he knew who Fred Guttenberg was. He just might not have known (or maybe he did) why he walked up to him to shake his hand when they had already been introduced. I used to have a co-worker who would greet me several times in the same day and it was weird.
Also, no, I wouldn't tell you he would have the same expression if Franklin Graham had walked up to him to shake his hand. One, he's probably more familiar with Graham than Guttenberg, and two, he probably agrees with Graham on a lot of political and social issues.
