This pastor and his wife paid for this shit with church donations.
I don't think the ire should be aimed at the pastor, though I think folks in this business are shitheads who thrive on the gullibility of their followers. I think the proper place to point the finger is at the people who willingly donate to their ministries. After all, if people were able to think critically, these "pastors" would have to find some other con to work.
Oh, I know the old argument about folks taking advantage of the slow members of the herd should be ashamed and prosecuted and all that, and I agree. However, they are not responsible for the large percentage of the herd that sucks into their scams. I think it far better to aim your slings at them because they are also folks who cast ballots.
The usual God is an enabler for my greed. Haven't these people ever heard of the 7 deadly sins? And to think these buffoons get subsidized by the US government.
How many stories do we have to read like this? I’m just disgusted by these so-called pastors living lavishly while thier flock live paycheck to paycheck.
The only problem I have with that is that he's not taxed on it. The congregation doesn't mind being fleeced and he doesn't mind fleecing them. What evidence is there that it's not an entertainment-based commercial enterprise? A cross? Tax the operation.
@maturin1919 Pastors get government subsidies on homebuying, tax breaks, etc.
Its apparently legal, which is why we need tax reforms very badly.
