Today I reached the limit of my patience, tolerance...and almost the limit of my good manners.

A lady in my Community Center doesn't understand that her blessing me / making the sign of the croos (she almost touches my nose) is extremely annoying. I told her, today, "" Next time you do that to me I will report you to the authorities for harassment."""

I don't know if her actions are reportable...but I hope she thinks so and stops annoying me.

I'd loudly tell her she's invaded your personal space - and you find her behavior threatening.

I think that's the truth of it. Perhaps that would chill her out. Or maybe you already have.

I did...lol....I did

@DUCHESSA I had a priest show up at my hospital bedside while I brushing my teeth - in bed. He apparently informed everyone that I tried to incinerate him with my stare. He was correct.

He could have asked before he started with the mumbo jumbo!

I suspect my parents of siccing him on me. (They were good people but misguided in this one thing.). lol

It is technically harassment, problem is, when you report it they will just advise you to stop going there when she's there. They will put it on you to avoid her. I would continue asking her to stop while staying calm and collected. Eventually others will notice that you have been polite about it and hopefully, she will be confronted about her behavior. There's also the other side. Find something equally as annoying to do back. Start quoting horrible bible verses (there are plenty) or you could just keep repeating that it's all fake news.

Trust me...they know me well enough NO to tell me to go there when she is around. Trust me, they know better.

But I already have something that annoys her ...my powerful voice....Gee, annoys her to no end.......LOL

@DUCHESSA awesome! You're good to go then.

Try giving her the finger and sayimg something like "bless this" or "here, bless you too:

I don't lower myself to those levels.

That kind of stuff doesn't really bother me much.
Of the real good friends that I have, some are believers, and some are not.
We all get along great because we accept, and like each other for the human we are, not our politics, or religious beliefs.
Although, I do have to add that my list of "real good " friends is fairly small. I wish more were like that.

I guess another reason that that kind of thing doesn't bother me is that I realize that they (in their own way) mean well and are just trying to be nice.

The only real time I have a problem, is when one will be judgemental, or forcing their belief on another, I have no tolerance for that at all, and will be very vocal about it.

But as to a simple , " have a blessed day" or other such, that never really bothers me.
JMHO

See...that's exactly what I told her..."I respect you, please respect me." but she repeats her behavior each time she sees me.

Now, if whenever your "trying to be nice / mean well" accomplishes exactly the opposite...wouldn't you stop said behavior?

I was a teacher long enough to know when a behavior is spontaneous or designed to inflict distress.

@DUCHESSA Actually, no.
I take no offence to a common, (at least to them) gesture of theirs, as well as they don't take offense to one of mine.
I see no reason to act in a hostile manor towards some one only wishing me well.
But that's just me, I'm sure others have a different view. I guess, to me there is more importance to "get along" than there is to be in opposition.

@TristanNuvo There are people like you and people like me....Now..."to get along" is important to me as well....but I don't have time for arrogant people.

@DUCHESSA I agree. But I have to add that it works both ways.

@TristanNuvo Depends on the circumstances and on the people. Anyway. Thanks for your advise. Until next topic / event...

I generally just ignore them and walk away if they persist but there are an awful lot of them here and atheism is considered to be kind of radical so I have to tread lightly to be accepted by the community. I do support your stance though.

See, I tell the world I am an Atheist....and I never had a problem...but this lady is a case...and when somebody invades my space the situation starts to turn ugly.

Thanks a lot.

@DUCHESSA Your welcome. Anytime for a fellow atheist.

It really get on my nerves when the 'faithfools' come along, totally unbidden and try to bless me, I feel it is an INVASION of both my own personal space as well as an affront to my dignity as a thinking, free-willed human being.
IF anyone else in society did something similar it would classed as SOLICITING, so WHY is it allowed and even condoned for Xtians to do it?

I told her "Next time I will report you." Indeed is an invasion of my privacy.
I really must have changes; few years ago I would told her to visit her mother's derriere.

Ignore her.

How many more times? Are you aware that her behavior is bully-like?
