Tell me about your absolute best day ever! How old were you? Where were you? What made that day the absolute best?

I had a very nice day hiking in the mountains near Sacramento, but hope I've not had my best day yet.

Do you like Finland better?

Either doing aerobatics or playing with a cheetah and baby lion cubs. Both totally different, hard to pick between.

Both sound like lovely experiences!

Not one. Just some days that are better than others.

12/7/1984 the day my daughter, Lorrae, was born.

Do you only have one child?

@JenBeberstein Only had the one, Lorrae passed from cancer in January 2001, aged just 16 years and 6 months.

@Triphid I'm so sorry!

@JenBeberstein Thank you for you kind thoughts, I still grieve over losing her but not quite so much as I did in the beginning.

I have fun every day. Here's one experience I will never forget:

Standing in a Rainbow

At age 23, I backpacked on Mt. Shuksan in northeast Washington. That evening, we camped above the tree line around 7,000’ elevation. We saw the sun set behind Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

The next day, a massive storm blew in. Hail piled up like snowdrifts, washing small ptarmigan birds downhill. "PEEP! Peep…peep…pe…”

Lightning struck around us. “Here, you hold my ice axe.” Pouring rain soaked us to the skin. Sun shone in a nearby valley.

And we stood in a rainbow. We saw the rainbow colors on each other’s faces. I stuck out my arm and marveled at the colors on my arm. It only lasted for a minute or two. We were not high. My hiking partner was a medical doctor.

Afterward, the sun steamed our backs as we slogged our way to the car.

This was a PEAK experience in my life.

I met two other hikers who stood in a rainbow high in the mountains during a rainstorm. People don’t believe them, either. Men lecture me on refracted light and insist it is impossible. Mansplaining.

This sounds like an amazingly incredible experience!

@JenBeberstein

You are right. It was a euphoric, incredible experience. We hurried to descend off the high ridge where lightning was striking.

All of them.

What a wonderful thing to be able to say!

@JenBeberstein I am grateful for everyday xx

2

Way too many to choose from.

Sounds like you've lived a great life!

@JenBeberstein I think so, though it may not seem that way to others.

The day I got on an airplane and flew back to the USA from Viet Nam.

That would be incredibly hard to top!

You know what they say..."War is Hell" It really is. I always wonder why some people want to send troops to various countries to fight. Men die. @JenBeberstein

@nicknotes I agree. So many great lives are lost.

Definitely...@JenBeberstein

Easy. The day my daughter was born. I was 23.

Do you have only one child?

@JenBeberstein Yes.
