We are not being invaded by armed hoards, why the Military Prison stance!
We see this Tangle foot razor wire, the other side of the border does not!

A border wall stretching between downtown Nogales, Ariz., and Nogales, Mexico, now has even more barbed wire—and the city council for the US side is demanding the government take the wire down within city limits, threatening legal action if it doesn't do so, per the AP. The concertina wire, more of which was reportedly installed last weekend, is the type "only found in a war, prison, or battle setting" and is "not only irresponsible but inhuman," per a council resolution passed Wednesday. It added the wire could seriously hurt or kill someone. Mayor Arturo Garino says that those who live near the two-story wall could be at peril, especially local kids. The AP notes the downtown area is residential in parts, and some homes are just a few feet from the wall.
"That wire is lethal, and I really don't know what they're thinking by putting it all the way down to the ground," he said earlier this week, per the AP. Garino says he has also asked US Sen. Martha McSally to intervene on the city's behalf. In a statement to the AP, US Customs and Border Protection says the newly installed wire in Nogales was added after a request "for additional support in high-risk urban areas commonly exploited by criminal smuggling organizations," though it didn't elaborate on who'd asked for it to be put up. The agency adds that warning signs in both English and Spanish have been erected, and that in areas where there's a lot of foot traffic, the wire wasn't put on the wall's lower portion. CBP said in November that it had received 36 miles of the wire for use in Arizona, Texas, and California border towns. (Read more border wall stories.)"

It’s for show more than anything by now those who are crossing illegally are already using other points of entry or they know that all you have to do is press it in the spot where it crosses it’ll go flat and pretty much be useless.
Or we can get angry and twisted which only harms us and doesn’t really effect anyone else involved.
It (razor wire) is a deterrent to attempting to cross, not a barrier. The sharpness and potential harm it suggests is meant to stop border crossers from even trying. The only people that it can physically hurt, are those who ignore its presence.
@dahermit -- What about the harm it does to us as a people? I, as a human being, cannot ignore the barrier that mars the horizon. There is a relatively small, somewhat less than 38% overall, number of Americans who support this travesty to humanity. Of those, the majority are declared Republicans. Active opposition to this BS represents the majority, which includes an interesting percentage of Republicans. A small percentage remains undecided. It appears that the more likely trend will be a slow shift toward not wanting this obscene display and a growing support for smart border security measures.
@evidentialist "What about the harm it does to us as a people? I, as a human being, cannot ignore the barrier that mars the horizon." It does nothing to me at all. If it offended me, would not look. In short, your argument is based on emotion, not reality. Note: I am against the "wall" (will not work, cannot afford, etc.), but I do not wet my knickers over portions of the border having a physical deterrent inasmuch as there has been such there for decades.
'Tis but a monument to insecure, paranoid, and bigoted children playing grownup. To me, an American citizen, it is a source of embarrassment and shame knowing we have dipped this low. This is not defending our country, it is destroying it and bleeding away any semblance of dignity we may have once had. Fuck you and all your minions, Trump.
