Why would there be an exemption in the first place. If they consider themselves Christians then surely they should not have anything to hide.

Signed and sent gladly.

This idea of religious exemptions is also gaining ground in Washington. We have had a large number of measles outbreaks here especially in areas with low vaccine rates. Unfortunately, it often takes hitting bottom before we wake up. Let's hope it passes as many states follow California's lead (at least the progressive ones).
It's hard to believe something as sick as this could be allowed.

@JesseThompson I'm commenting on religious exemptions where there shouldn't be any. One instance concerns people's physical lives and the other people's emotional ones. Both are wrong, wrong, wrong. And we not only give exemptions but also tax breaks. It is criminal!!!

@JesseThompson Maybe not pedos, but parents who don't vaccinate their kids are pretty definitely child abusers!

@JesseThompson Do the math.

@jerry99 I would go further and call them species abusers whose ignorance fosters suffering and death.

@jerry99 The big problem with Anti-vaccinators is they only care about their own children and they never think of the long term effects on their child or society. Sometimes one has to hurt their child (and how much hurt is a needle prick?) to help protect them.

From the article:

Currently, California Penal Code § 11166🍸(1) states the following:

“A clergy member who acquires knowledge or a reasonable suspicion of child abuse or neglect during a penitential communication is not [required to make a report].”

Wow. I didn't know current law stated it so blatantly.

If California has such an exemption, it makes me wonder how many other states also have it.
