I get to enjoy a 4 day weekend due to my employer considering Holy Thursday and Good Friday to be holidays.
Thank ya', Easter Bunny!
Last year at former employer I had "Easter Monday" off. That was really nice. This year, new employer, fewer paid holidays. Last year I worked for an insurance company, this year for a Not For Profit hospital. New employer is more aligned with my own values, but I sure do miss the days off.
@altschmerz I remember passing by a freshly plowed field when I was a kid, and thinking that was the most wonderful smell. I like the Egyptian holiday, I'd love a day to go out and smell the air.
Hey, that's right. It is Good Friday. Maybe I can buy some good fries today. On the serious side imagine all those Catholics who are sad about today because their savior was crucified and killed, but at the same time they are so happy for this because it means there is hope for them too. They just can't make up their minds.
I'm very reverent of Lent too. Is that the opposite of borrowed, or is it belly button lent. IDK?
If it was hurting the bottom line then they would stop it real quick. Major retail stores are thinking about staying open on major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas now, whereas in the past they were closed, because they are worried about losing sales more and more every year.
The kids here were supposed to be in school tomorrow. However, it was just announced that all schools are closed tomorrow
because we're supposed to have really bad weather.
Provided everything is still standing, they'll be back in school on Monday.
Aussie School Kids are holidays this year at Easter time since Easter NEVER falls on the same days/months every year and I'd reckon they are enjoying it immensely as well.
But me, being the Atheist Heathen I always have been I always volunteered to work every day of Easter.
