I grew up watching the Nixon impeachment hearings. I was in early elementary school. My parents kept referring to the president as a "knucklehead" or someone who "wants to rule the world". We aren't even close to impeachment and my kids have heard so much more descriptive language about tRump...
My parents were strong Nixon supporters. I heard what others were saying at the time, as a teenager, and was confused as to what to think. Now that I've done a 180 compared to my parent's political stances, I understand how so many people have their heads buried in the sand, and will not hear what a conscious sentient being can see is the truth. I believe all my siblings still adhere to the "bury your head in the sand" approach.
We all have so much more information, now, at the touch of a button to relate all sides of an issue. It's still surprising to me how many people can keep their head buried for this long!
