Just saw that Trump and AG Barr have reinstated the death penalty, and have ordered five executions.
People refuse to talk logically about the death penalty. I'm not going to list the various arguments in this brief spurting. The issue is always aimed at emotion; and I am always quick to tell a proponent that, yes, I agree that there are people who should not be in society and that, yes, I, too, would want to do something horrible to a person(s) who harmed a love one. The key point I want folks to think about - do you really want it legal for your government to have the right to kill their citizens?
But, you won't see the Atlanta Olympic bomber on that list. He apologized for that and his other murders were God's work an anti abortionist.
I wonder how many of the condemned are white?
Cool, now they can start legally killing people. Wonder how long it'll be till they expand what one can be executed for.
Doesn't treason trigger the death penalty?
Death penalties are a prerogative of each state, not the feds.....
The feds have that perogative too as they are another legal jurisdiction.
Shameful. Killing people to show that killing is wrong makes no sense.
Much like the most extreme among the anti-choice movement: ‘abortion is murder. Stop, or we’ll kill you’.
