Jeff Bezos abruptly cuts health benefits for nearly 2000 part-time Whole Foods workers- This is disgusting. Agree/Disagree. Personally I will continue to shop Trader Joe's and Aldis instead.
I am thinking about starting to order from somewhere other than Amazon after seeing John Oliver's report on how the employees are treated at the fulfillment centers. Timed breaks and you have to be so active during a given period of time... Employees have a hard time breaking for the bathroom or lunch. F'n Besos...
Not making any excuses, but I think it's fairly common that part-time workers don't get health insurance. Obviously, everyone should have access to health care but I don't see Amazon as the evil empire some people are saying.
Aside from the fact that they're not paying much if any in taxes...
Business should not be burdened with health care. That was and is one of the dumbest ideas in a shit load of bad ideas this country has come up with. If you want national health care put on a fast track, then have the entire business community abandon furnishing health care. It should not be their responsibility.
Why is he doing that? He's the richest man in the world
