Woke up at 5 with a raging migraine. Had to take two pills instead of one. Overslept and late for work, had to do a conference call with a parent in my car, and explain how her son will be evaluated for Autism. Get to work an hour late, people following me with a thousand questions. The beach is calling my name right now. And my coffee is cold
It is a scary thing to begin to have to admit that your offspring isn't perfect by the norms of society. So well done for tackling the situation while being very ill.
Avoid the coffee with migraines, go for tea. somewhat gentler on the system for the caffeine hit. Eat some spiced food full of turmeric and cumin, but not too much chilli.
The weekend is nearly here, so take a train ride into Virginia, enjoy the Shanandoah valley while you prep for classes.
Don't worry about autism. Two of my grandchildren are autistic. One is now a senior in college and the other is a senior in High School. They were a little odd when they were young but they seem fine now.
Oh I am not worried. It was me explaining to the parent the evaluation process and trying to be kind and not short with her while my head was pounding. Autism is not always the awful thing people think it is.
@sweetcharlotte I use rizatriptan as well. It is not working very well lately.
Other than that, how is your day going?
LOL! Just got off recess with the little ones. Very busy day and I am getting sicker by the day.
Hugs. This day will pass. Hope you feel better soon!
Oh my... That's sounds like a really bad day... I hope you feel better soon
I had migraines for years at the most importune times, until I figured out they were allergic reactions. N9NE for 4 decades now. Best wishes!
Oh that's great! What were you allergic too? Mine are hormonal and seem to be getting worse.
@GreatNani I had 9ne restaurant glass f red wine on Friday nite out with hubby, then required a darkened room for the entire weekend...never made the connection (duh, one glass), my neurologist did. I had had a complete hysterectomy/oophectomy about 7 years before they began, so not hormonal. Do you crave/want some "special" food/drink before your "time"? Try not having it then.....
@AnneWimsey red wine use to give me headache but not anymore. Caffeine, chocolate and salt. Will have to watch that and see.
@GreatNani if it gives you a headache, it could be a food allergy, keep ingesting it & it will get worse (like bee stings, the second reaction can kill you!) Try white or instead beer. Best wishes!
The world is a better place for the work you do with children.
Thank you!
