I’ve been a member for a couple years but haven’t made a connection with anyone here. And unfortunately there’s almost no back and forth. Everything is a numbers game at some level but we, agnostics and atheists, I’d assume would be pre-selected for compatibility, at least on the basics. What do you think?
This is not specifically a dating site - not everyone here is looking, which lowers the chances of meeting someone.
Next, members are from all over the world, lessening the chances to find someone reasonably close by.
And lastly, it's generally a mistake to assume anything. But hey, ya never know ...
I've been here since November, 2017 or so. I'm not the most active participant and have had a couple long absences from agnostic.com, and I've made it to level 8. You cannot have spent much time on here or contributed very much to the groups or boards. Nobody is going to know who you are if you remain silent, and the only people who randomly message "strangers" are scammers.
It doesn't seem like you are investing much into the site. You have to at least make an effort.
@Donotbelieve It's do as I say not as I do advice.... My friends may be different and few, but I wouldn't trade one of them for one hundred who follow the herd.
@Donotbelieve I'm honored.
@Donotbelieve Should I quote Alfred E. Newman now?
If you contact someone on here, you have the Yuge luxury of reading their posts on bunches or subjects first. I enjoy that!
I just returned from visiting Miss Kathleen in Yuma, AZ. Doubter of San Diego met us for lunch during a day trip. He saw we posted we were going to California for the day. Posted in my group Singles/Mingle/Chat - tells you whats going on with members. So does our chatroom.
A life Atheist, what’s becoming ..depressingly apparent to me is how few others are… Most appear to be in various stages of intellectual evolution, thus ..lagging.
The platform appears to have worked for some, which both shocks the shit out of me ..and gives me hope.. Just don't hold your breath! Also ...many of the deepest, most active Atheists are either old, or closing in fast.. I’m 62, feel far younger, but don’t know how that helps
To me, the worth of this platform is for ‘us’ to learn about and encourage others like us. Especially youngins! Had I been aware of the equivalent of several of our younger posters in my days of hay … fu.. I’d have swam an ocean.. As is, with daughters near their age ..I can only be impressed and encouraged by their presence.
I say live on with your life ..and perhaps ...when you least expect it ~
im sure i have a better chance here, finding a date, than i would on christianmingle. But thats no guarantee of success.
I just try to enjoy myself and not sweat the details. If someone enjoys what I say and contacts me..... WHOOPEE... If not, at least I am having fun.
