84 days till retirement . I have been planning for this my entire life.
if it weren't for golf & booze i don't know what i would have done since i retired 26 yrs ago.
as for many things in life: retirement (for many) isn't all it's cracked up to be.
I retired last year, and I must admit that I DIDN'T plan for it. I'm just lucky that other people planned for me.
Congrats!! My advice is to travel as much as possible! There are so many places to see and so many things to do. There are over 400 wineries in NC btw. I’m working my way through the list and if you like wine it’s a fun way to spend your time.
@helionoftroy now you are not counting Dublin are you?
I think I will have to work until I drop dead at my desk.
And they will write me up for not showing up the next day.
@bufftownbeotch that makes me profoundly sad. I am sorry to hear that.
It's wonderful ! I have you have , at least , a generic plan for yourself . Sleeping in is fun , but , fi yu've spent a lifetime , going to work , you'll eventually miss having something to do , places to be, and people to deal with . May I sugggest , if nothing is on your agenda , a tri;p to the library , at your leisure , perhaps find a local farm vegetable stand , or an arboretum . What are all those local things that you've been passing by , thinking , "Some day , I'm going to stop there ?" Plna ant take some local drives - time to enjoy the fall foilage . Just whatever interests you . Daytime TV isn't all that great .
@Cast1es. I'm 63 and have never watched television before 6pm. I can't imagine I will start now.
Congrats Dave. I have to go back to work as I can't live on Social Security. I honestly don't mind selling candy again part-time.
@sassygirl3869 ok what?
"Selling candy" is slang for prostitution.
@BufftonBeotch lmao, oh my I guess I am so out of it. Thanks you for enlightening me.
@BufftonBeotch - news to me-been a sales rep for Hershey Chocolate, Brachs Candy, MM/Mars and Wrigleys among others.Always called the candy lady.
@sassygirl3869 Not that you'll know, but I'd like to know if Brach's still makes -- anywhere in the world -- the nougat cubes with little red, orange and yellow gummy dots. I LOVE those and miss them. I used to be able to go to the grocery store and just buy two or three out of the bin.
Things will expand to fill the space provided, I promise! Mazeltov!
@annewimsey I am hoping to lose some weight and exercise and eat better
