it seems to me like to be "all-knowing" would require a rather thorough and intimate knowledge of sin unless knowledge is not dependent upon the experience. just another rabbit hole.
I suspect an "all-knowing" would have an all-together different idea of what sin is in the first place. It would understand the variables leading up to any single event from the many angles of that person's life going back generations. To that end, sin would just be a behavior, but an all-knowing would recognize that behavior is just the tip of the iceberg.
"Sin"??!! What the Hell are you babbling about?
"Sin" is a religious construct (only) that is intended to keep people subjugated through fear and the offering of a "path to salvation" usually through asking for money & self-castigation. It is an UGLY concept from start to finish and I am not buying your "explanation" of trying to use it for leverage...which is exactly what religion does....using nasty ideas helps No One!
@hankster "connection to gawd"...again WTH are you babbling about? No gawd(s) no sin, get off the "-guilt train"! And stop trying to put others on it!
@hankster aaaaawwwwwwww, I feel so much better now that a delusional guilt-inducer tells me to.
@hankster not without gawd 's "help"...that's sarcasm, hasten to mention.
Universal Consciousness is much less than a spiritual attribute, but, rather, is a mundane dimension of matter, akin to mass or space-time. People can, with training, tap into this dimension, i.e. remote viewing. Maybe...
Sin is the application of our brain's logic circuit as it pertains to fairness, equity, and the visceral reaction to disorder, even horror... We react to unfairness and may or may not be aware of the logic we bring to it.
2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
God is sin. Go and sin and you will then know God and the Masonic lodge secret religion racist devil worshippers will throw you in Jail and make you pay fines, fee and court cost. Sin = crime, sin = fallacy, sin = wrong doing. Sin = existence.
Psalms 51:5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
Now, go and be in non-existance with non-existent flying spaghetti monster sky God for ever and ever and you will no longer have to worry about sin or sinning ever again.
OMG, back with the "racist" hatred of Mason-ism are we? "Jail"? What jail? Where, exactly? Oh, and BTW, Surely, my sweet Mother conceived me in love, you nasty fathead!
Yes, the all knowing would have to be able to have a massive capacity for knowledge of atrocities without the need for action. One of the reasons that a loving all knowing God doesn’t exist. If there is some kind of all knowing God they’re pretty twisted to allow things to happen that are horrendous; especially to the innocent, who are then more likely to go on and perpetuate the abuse they’d be a lot more of early intervention going on if there was really an all knowing God. Synchronistic intervention would be the way forward: you listening up there God?
P.s. it was pretty cool when Alfo pretty much said this to God in Disenchantment’s second series to get chucked out of heaven
Reminds me of Piers Anthony's For Love of Evil from the Incarnations of Immortality series.
...and sin is?
@hankster but objectively what is it’s definition.
The same could be said for happiness, indecision, unruliness and all manner of ideas.
We need to determine what ‘sin’ is objectively as it has many subjective contexts due to religious discourse over the centuries.
@hankster okay fair enough but that means there is no point mentioning anything as all concepts would be inclusive within the concept.
Sin is an irrelevant issue to be addressed.
"Sin" is not doing right in god's sight and we see that there are so many sins. This means that god is so very finicky on everything, and so much so that said god could not be trusted. Once upon a time you could please him with burned meat and now if you do not do right he is going to send you to hell. WTF?
@DenoPenno Who is this god of which you speak?
@hankster I’ll go with you there!
@Geoffrey51 The biblical god of course. His love of burned meat and the smell of burned meat must have come into play when he decided to tell people they could go to heaven or hell. If you go to hell he still has his burned meat. He has to resurrect them for this.
@DenoPenno if I recall this one was partial to a Sunday roast! Did Paul put an end to all that? I seem to recall something about him getting a bit sniffy about sacrificial meats in Galatians possibly?
I recall as a child asking My mother why there were laws in the bible about having sex with animals, not because I wanted to do it, but because the idea had never even occurred to me until the bible told me I must not do it.
MY religious maniac mother was furious that I asked and then even more furious when I told her how I had found out about it, and then punished me for "misusing" the Bible by which I presume she meant I was not supposed to actually read it.
I think it meant she had no answer. There are actually people today who sit around and think these things up, then try to get it into a bill that you cannot have sex with animals. It all starts with just where you let that grasshopper crawl secretly when you are a child, then it goes on into animals later. Maybe animals and peanut butter.
He knows everything that will happen, and yet is surprised and angry about it over and over again. I think God needs to go on Dr. Phil.
