Whew! Just back from China and after 22 hours aloft (with breaks) the feeling is close to that of a greasy, soapy, wrung-out dish rag.irtual
Failure, out of ignorance, to downlad a 'Virtual Peronal Internet' ap before leaving the country ended up getting cut-off from Internet access for the 2 1/2 week China stay. The Chinese, for good reason, don't like Google.
Godless China is one very impressive place. Sneeze and nobody says ANYTHING! China is truly the land of 'Ye's of little faith' and of Dau Ting Thomases.
I have missed you all; especially the women. (my favorite people)
Women in China enjoy a status unparalleled in other nations. They have a strong family life and the most beautiful, well-behaved children one could imagine. China's air force is comprised of LOTS of female pilots; as they have found that females think and react - in the main - more quickly than their brothers.
China is ALLEGEDLY the worlds sixth larget economy. How. I can't imagine! They are building residential high rises 30-36 stories at furious pace. There are thousands of complexes everywhere one looks. thre is a great efort underway to 'urbanize' migrant workers for more comfortable, productive lives.
Enough already about a country. This IS after all about ye's of litle or no faith, right? No Church spires in China, save a few achaic ones that nobody takes seriously.
What's bad about China? The air is TERRIBLE and though they are now 'smogging' cars, tere is a long way to go; perhaps it should be said a 'lung' way to go! If YOU go, wear a facemask/filter outdoors.
O.K., done on this. Love all of you idependent thinkers and hope to have a lot of stimulating exchanges in th near future.
Wow. Loved reading your post. It was too short. This IS the great leap forward. The PRC will leap frog over us into the future especially under our current political situation. Lots of issues facing China. Different than the ones we face here in the USA. Regarding us females' reaction time, I now understand why the spouse just stands there with his mouth agape....or is he in slow motion? Or am I moving to fast?
Did you get a fortune cookie when you ordered food?
They don't 'do' fortune cookie. Knowing that before making the trip inspired an idea but not execution I wanted to bring fortune cookies along to give to some of my granddaughter's students as American style gifts. We didn't have time to locate them before departure. Maybe next time.
Welcome to the community - lots of fresh air here.
My ex-boyfriend spent 5yrs in Taiwan and time in Bejing and Shanghai teaching. Hard to breathe, poor plumbing and housing.
My very sharp nephew’s mate is Chinese, she’s equally sharp. Sounds like my chromebook would be worthless over there, as would I My impression from afar of China is a wasp nest ..with most toiling for the collective; a nation in the midst of the industrial revolution while desperately playing catch up, at all costs…
There’s a valley over there, a botanical wonderland having escaped the ravages of the ice ages due to it’s perpendicular placement to ice flows. I’d love a tour, but as for the rest of China … suspect I’d feel like a bumble bee in a wasp nest -- Welcome home ~
