This is such an awesome analogy of religious control to enforce a point of view. Please watch and comment what you think.
Throughout history leaders have known if they control the religion of the masses it is easier to control them. It is why the founding fathers made sure the Constitution included protections for religion from government.
Is the constitution relevant as a legal document?
An over-simplification, but pretty much how Islamic and/or Communist indoctrination functions.
And fundamental Christian too, is the world 10,000 years old, they think so
It is an oversimplification of how ANY indoctrination works. Indoctrination is far subtler, especially the most effective ones anyway. The fact that you bellieve that is "pretty much how Islamic and/or Communist indoctrination functions" is a result of years of indoctrination that you have (we all have) received.
This is how our "enemies" are painted (through indoctrination): inhuman, illogical and almost insane.
"Indoctrination is far subtler, especially the most effective ones anyway. "
Agreed. The point of my comment was that COERCION AND VIOLENCE today are most prevalent in the indoctrination imposed by Islam and Communism.
@PBuck0145 And my point was that coercion and violence are prevalent tools of control and subjugation in any autocratic regimes, not simply by Islam and Communism. What is actually interesting is that this video is a form of indoctrination that oversimplify right vs. wrong, as you are kind of doing by automatically assigning coercion and violence against our perceived hostile ideology "Islam and Communism" when it is more a function of historical accidents (which is more autocratic, China or Thailand? Uganda or Brunei? Is Russia Communism? If so is it more autocratic than Japan?) I was raised in South Korea of 1970's where autocratic forms of control was rampant, and it was neither communist or islam. It was just very very poor. South Korea is less autocratic, not because our ideology has changed, but simply our economy has gotten better.
The point is that this video is an example of indoctrination that teaches us that our enemies (whatever form that may be) are inhuman, illogical and insane. When, in fact, we ALL have that capability.
@PBuck0145 Oh, believe me THERE ARE numerous Christian, Muslim and Hebrew off-shoots that STILL do similar, if not EXACTLY, things even today.
E.G. Jehovah's Witnesses ( Witlesses imho) truly believe that a Blood Transfusion that WILL save the life of a child or even an Adult IS a Mortal Sin and contaminates the Recipients body for eternity.
Morons ( Morons) believe that coffee, tea or anything containing caffeine, smoking tobacco, etc, also contaminates the body for eternity, NO money may be spent or earned by a Mormon on a Sunday, UNLESS the get a Special Dispensation from the Temple, Women MUST be subservient to men, ( the lists of Mormon 'No-Nos' is very very long btw.
Seventh Day Adventists believe that NO Foods should be cooked from sunset Friday thru to sunset Saturday, NO electricity, Gas, etc, should be used during those times either, No-one should be permitted to laugh during those times AND, last but no means least, NO sexual Intercourse or even kissing is permitted during those hours as well.
And, we all know about the Amish and their beliefs and ways, don't we?
@AtheistReader Exactly. The craft of indoctrination is to create ‘otherness’ and then fear of that otherness.
That was terrifying. And it happens every day everywhere. I was doing volunteer work in my community for Community Emergency Response Team, which operates under the Department of Homeland Security. We train citizens how to respond in the event of a national or local emergency. We had our annual volunteer appreciation holiday dinner. The first thing that set me off was when I said Happy Holidays to some people, they corrected me by replying Merry Christmas. Then before the dinner started, there was a moment of prayer. I couldn't believe it. This was a government building and a completely nonsecular group. I didn't know what to do. Everyone was bowing their heads. I just sat there like a dummy. I should have gotten up and walked out.
Something quite similar happened when I was a Volunteer with the local Branch of the New South Wales State Emergency Services.
At EVERY single 'Call-out' to an Emergency, BEFORE leaving the Depot, WE were required by our very Christian Local Controller and , note this please, a Married Man WITH a Wife and 4 children, to stand, heads bowed and pray for 5-10 minutes INSTEAD of jumping into the Rescue vehicles and heading out, post haste, to the Emergency.
After one very major Emergency, when we all returned to the Depot we walked in to discover the Local Controller having very obvious and passionate sex with his Secretary in our Changing Rooms, at least a dozen of us resigned that day and went immediately to the local Fire Brigade to offer them our services.
@Triphid Good grief. So many closeted "sinners" hiding behind their so-called piety.. Was this guy ever reprimanded in any way?
@TheoryNumber3 Yeah, we reported him to the Department Heads ( with photos as proof as well) and both were hauled over the coals, his wife divorced him, he lost his regular job as a Surface Manager at the local mines, they initiated a BIG inquiry into his management of funds for the local branch of the State Emergency Services and found numerous discrepancies in the usages of allocated funds, etc, his secretary was dismissed from the S.E.S., her husband also divorced her within months of the 'news' breaking around town, both went their separate ways and have never been heard of since.
@Triphid Bravo. Occasionally justice prevails.
