The opposite, no? Bad memories? Maybe a Nerf gun? Something less "hurty?"

Pretty sure he'd want an AR-15. The AR doesn't stand for "Assault Rifle"... It stands for Armalite Rifle. Armalite was the original manufacturer.

In the last few years Neil Tyson has been more open with his disdain for religion. Glad to see it.

🤣🤣 that's hilarious

The pen, (propaganda in any form), is mightier than the sword. Need I say more!

Ha!. Nail gun. Priceless.

Based on Matthew 10:34, I vote for a sword:

New International Version
"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."

As an agnostic Zen monk who shoots at nothing but paper targets (at long distances), I'm partial to the .300 Win Mag shooting a Nosler Accubond 180 grain at little pieces of paper about 5 football fields away. If I had only an AR and an AK to choose from, I'd take the AR because of my fascination with long-distant accuracy.

Me personally, IF I wanted a rifle for long range shooting I'd take the Webley .360 over any other rifle any day.
Tried one owned by a very skilled Feral Pig Hunter about 6 months ago, 192 grain projectile with factory loaded Nobel # 3 smokeless powder over a measured out 1,281 yards, deflection due to distance was less than 0.025mms.
One single shot using a scope and that big ugly Razorback Boar was deader than Julius Caesar with an entry hole the size of 3/16th bolt and an exit hole the size of the top of a coffee mug.
Mind you, the ONLY drawback with the Webley .360 is that you can ONLY fire a max. of 6 shot in an 15 minute period or the barrel gets a bit to hot to hold onto, BUT it IS still a great and very accurate rifle none-the-less.

@Triphid geez, was the thing still edible?

@AnneWimsey We don't eat Feral pig meat here in Australia,

  1. it is full of parasites, etc,
  2. it IS tougher than old boot leather, and,
  3. a nice piece of store bought pork or a nice, fresh killed 'roo steak is far, far better anyway.
out here Feral Pigs ranl high the Introduced Pest Scale along with Feral Cats, Feral Dogs, Goats, Foxes and Underground Mutton, aka rabbits, though some do eat goat and rabbit when they can get it I much prefered, when I was an active Feral Pest Hunter, to use the shoot, kill and leave it for the scavengers idea.
Though many Sheep Graziers out here where I live used to pay a 'bounty' on the ears of feral cats, foxes, pigs, feral dogs and even rabbits, the Government also used to pay a 'bounty' as well and their ruling was that every ear MUST be the left ear only to get the bounty honestly, so I always handed mine in to the authorised Office rather than take money out of the pockets of the Graziers.
Oh and btw, it was a headshot but there wasn't very much left of the head anyway.

@Triphid interesting...I only knew about the rabbits.....

@Triphid That Webley sounds like an incredible machine. I know an old guy who used to be a big game hunter, and he brags a lot about his. But I need to stay a bit more mainstream. Also, being retired has put a curb on buying expensive toys. Oh well, maybe one of these days I'll get to shoot it for him.

@mischl I'll warn you in advance that the Webley .360 has a recoil kick that would make any mule extremely jealous and I'm definitely NOT joking when I say that firing it a night you can actually see a muzzle flame that is about 8 inches long coming from it.
It takes a standard 6 cartridge magazine only and given the overall length of each cartridge it is no wonder why it only takes a 6 cartridge magazine.
My Pig hunting mate is now re-loading his own cartridges and has found that each cartridge is ONLY capable of being re-loaded a maximum of 6 times before the brass starts to part at the area around the firing cap and rim.

@Triphid I imagined that gun had a huge kick. Hell, I'm a sissy. I use a real thick shoulder pad. But the machines I shoot now are mostly .223 and I don't have to worry about so much shoulder damage.

@mischl When I was hunting Feral Pigs I used a WWI 7.69mm German Mauser that was actually taken from a Turkish solider who surrendered to ANZAC soldiers at Gallipoli, my Great Uncle brought to Australia with him when he sent home with bad wound to the left shoulder.
That thing had a really heavy to it but nowhere even close to the one the Webley puts out.

These would be the same "some" who haven't read the First Amendment, or anything else by James Madison. Or Thomas Jefferson, for that matter.

Since the AK47 is the better weapon, probably the AK47. Only the best for the SOG. 🙂

That's arguable. Different personalities. Both good but for different reasons.

@rogueflyer You can pretty much abuse the shit out of an AK47 and it will fire. Dependability is so important when someone is trying to kill you. This is why it is so popular around the world. I hate guns, but I do know that. It was true about the AK47 when I was in the Army, and it is true now.

@Sticks48 Yes and doesn't seem to climb if I remember right. We bought one on the black market in VN back in '69. Heavy gun though and heavy munition. We bought a Thompson also.

Jesus prefers nuclear weapons. He likes epic and apocalyptic weaponry.

2

Reminds me of the guy who’s devotion to Jesus led him to recreate the crucifixion.
Using a nail gun, he succeeded in fastening one of his wrists to the cross....

Fortunately he was able to use his cell phone to get some help removing himself 😂

When you are controlled by illogical fear of the unknown and are too lazy to comprehend facts and truths!

Jesus and all the god(s) welcome you to be dominated by other men who know how to lord over your ignorance, stupidity, arrogance, and morality!!!

Frank Zappa was a very wise man.

Doesn't really come down to the capacity of the magazine? Crude projectile weapon. I go for type-2 phaser. Stun them or burn them to ashes your choice. 🤯 Of course the Veron T disruptors supposed to be really nasty.

3

Probably an Uzi since he was Jewish... If he was an American, definitely the AR.

C'mon, we're talking assault rifles here. Galil, surely.

@MrBeelzeebubbles I wasn't familiar with Galil, seems like an upgraded AK, more a large sub-machine gun than a tactical rifle. They and UZIs were (are?) manufactured by IMI. ARs are more accurate and have a longer effective range. Apples and oranges.

I feel like he might go against the tide and use something European. FN or maybe H&K.

I always find myself bemused when European nations criticize the American arms industry. They have quite major and well-financed arms exporting businesses of their own, that support a lot of workers and would lose a lot of money without foreign sales, including sales to civilians in the U.S.

@OwlInASack second largest exporter in the world. Massive contracts with Saudi Arabia. Makes you proud to be British.

4

fucking right. its also supposed to be land of the free but it has more prisons per thousand people than anywhere.
