chanukah starts at sundown tonight. i was unable to get an electric menorah and my late cat penny set herself on fire last year (she died of cancer this year, nothing to do with the fire, in which her fur was burned but not her skin or worse) so i am a bit candle-shy this year.

I took it upon myself way back in the day to learn about the so called 'Pagan' festivities.
To be honest. They are/were so much more fun that the so called 'Christian' festivities, by far.
I'm not one, even though I've been a non-believer all of my life, of those that has to call foul, to any one saying 'merry Christmas' by any means. To be honest, I'm more of a , well, what ever excuse to party, I'm in kind of person. So I try to celebrate anything I can get my hands on. But I do have to admit to a guilty pleasure of posting pagan celebrations, to piss off the got my panties in a bunch fundamentalists with the full brunt of irony that most of them do not understand. Well, I have no taboos about what I celebrate with friends. As an agnostic I have already been in Catholic weddings, a Celtic style wedding, a JW wedding, a few times celebrated Eid with Muslims... Never changed my mind about my beliefs.
