Cannot help but notice, now that California has mostly been counted, that Biden's "huge/amazing/startling victory" on Super Tuesday now amounts to about a 50-delegate "lead", with many many more states to go.
March 8th...edited to read "about 50 delegates"

Joe did have a significant resurrection. He looked DOA after the first few contests, but has done better since. The big question remains if he can win the upper Midwest. He will win big on the coasts, and is mostly toast in the Plains states. Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania appear to be the battleground again, and the question is whether Joe or Bernie can wrest those states away from Trump. Does Joe or Bernie have deeper support where it counts? Can anyone counter GOP voter suppression? Grab your popcorn.

California is a "coast" and Bernie did very well there.

@AnneWimsey I was referring to the general election rather than the primary. I thought that would be obvious.

Still hating on everyone non-Bernie.

Stating FACTS is "hating"???? Since when?

Biden won states he didn't even campaign in. If that's not huge/amazing/startling I dunno what is. Wish I were happy about it.

He's also still in the lead. He's not supposed to be, remember?

Well actually, for the vast majority of the time since this process began, he has been the front runner, leading by far.

@RoboGraham so maybe we should be surprised bernies still around? He was supposed to do much better.

Staggered primaries suck and should be dumped.

@1of5

I think political parties suck and should be dumped.

@RoboGraham come up with a better way, then.

Please.

@1of5

We build a supercomputer capable of keeping track of all citizen's thoughts and deeds and we teach it advanced algorithms and it applies certain sets of criteria determined by the issues of the day and runs the numbers to choose a few people who are best ale to lead for the upcoming years.

We then have an election so people can choose from the suggestions made by the super advanced computing machine.

@RoboGraham we build a computer like that we'll all be felons and lose our right to vote. 😉

@1of5

Yeah that's the down side.

And the computer will probably crown itself digital dictator king for eternity.

@RoboGraham shit, sounds better than having to deal with politics ATM.

I just hope my wife and I survive its initial purge.

@1of5

Well it will be much more rational than our current overlords are so if you deserve to survive the purge, you will.

@RoboGraham while my checkered past and current skills may be questionable its her I really worry about - marrying me shows she let her emotions overide her sound judgement.

Glad she did, but a computer may not see it as a positive like I do.

@1of5

Well hopefully we will all pull through and together enjoy the paradise of having an impartial rational leader make all the big decisions so we don't need to argue about politics anymore.

well, around here there's a big fight in the democratic party going on. not sure what it's like where everyone else is at. I tend to side with the younger group who also seem to be more vocal. But they didnt show up at the polls and that makes me think they're not mature enough yet to "take over".

For many of them, they showed up to find that their polling place had spontaneously been shut down.

@RoboGraham exactly! How do we get someone in like The Bern who Know we have a cheating problem with the Establishment Dems and Repubs. That’s how they “keep winning”. It’s like a big wheel that gets no where!

I see primaries as reminders....telling people to look who is in the lead now get off your butt and vote.. but...it could also breed over confidence as we have seen it here in Hawaii. Where people thought one guy was going to get it so they did not vote and the other guy got in.

[fivethirtyeight.com]

Biden has 7 in 8 chances to win nomination. Bernie has 1 in 50.

Ooohhh, look, more ASSertions with No substance from St-Sinner...who'd d a thunk that?

@AnneWimsey
Fivethirtyeight.com

@Bierbasstard my link has no underline & thus doesn't work......

@Bierbasstard wikipedia says this "source" put Hillary 's chances of winning at 77%........so I am So depending on it now!

2

I checked 3 sources, and they're all showing Biden ahead by 91. What's your source?

Googled "2020 Califirnia Primary and looked at Friday results, added them to previous numbers

@Bierbasstard wikipedia?

Some count their chickens before they're hatched... I'll reserve judgement and wait for the total count... 😊

Clinton! She counted her chickens then fucked Bernie and US over! If they do it again I swear I won’t vote anymore because it will Prove they are both really a singular party of evil and greed!

Interesting. I wonder if this means Bernie still might have a chance?

Now that Warren has finally gotten out of it, Bernie definitely has a chance.

Bernie against Biden head to head on the debate stage will swing things back in our favor. And if the DNC doesn't once again change the rules while the game is being played, Tulsi will also be on the debate stage and she will rip Biden apart on his abysmal foreign policy record.

@RoboGraham
That sounds exciting and good to watch.
Really hope that happens.

@AnonySchmoose

Unfortunately, it probably won't happen. The DNC is not going to allow a veteran woman of color make their chosen candidate look a fool on national TV.

@RoboGraham
Damn! I hoped for a major spectacle and upset.
