I’m just wondering, being on the outside looking in, is the American Democrat voters’ ideal to vote a Democrat in or to vote Trump out?
My first priority is to get rid of Trump by any means necessary. The Logical and nonviolent way of doing that is to elect a Democrat in his place.
I think most dems just want trump out. As evidenced by their willingness to let anyone into the party.
The Democratic Party is too diverse for a singular answer.. And, what’s a Democrat? FDR, JFK, LBJ, HRC..?
What’s happening now is the toughest of our political fighting; without Parliamentary negotiates with associated factions, our winner-take-all system gives us this one, if extended moment to battle it out.
Those wanting ‘progress now’ are less mature or aware than those wanting a ‘candidate that can beat trump.’ Most ‘Democrats’ want said progress … many having fought for it their entire adult lives … but too aware of what they’re up against in the other party..
So, as political veterans and so-call moderates seek a candidate that doesn't scare off ‘those in the middle,’ the so-called Independants, often the least engaged or informed … political purists are demanding everything now!
We need far more than a Democrat President, we need a ‘Democrat’ Congress and Supreme Court. Till then … there’s no such thing as ‘Now.’
Vote trump out. If you were a woman, you'd understand
Would you vote for a more moderate republican like mitt romney?
Also being on the outside looking in...I’d like to reiterate what I stated in a post yesterday...just vote in the one most likely to beat Trump in November...please! We need you to do us all a favour!!
A democrats ideal is to vote a Democrat in with substantial majorities in the house and Senate. Unfortunatly the democrats can't fucking decide what a Democrat really is.
You are speaking about a diverse group of individuals. What is your remedy?
@BitFlipper more parties so that people can choose a party that better represents thier interest/beliefs.
To me the great travesty of this election is that sanders and biden are faceing each other in the primary instrad of the general. Oh, and that Trump is running as the incumbent, but that's a whole nother issue.
Trump out- republicans ground to a fine mush-. Personally, I would have preferred a revolution with barricades and guillotines ( the French model), but one cannot have everything.
I can get the guillotines to you!
@Geoffrey51 Let me talk to my people.
Either one...For me, getting Trump out is the goal. I’m a registered Democrat, but I’d love to have Bernie. I’ll vote for Bernie if he gets the nomination. If he doesn’t though, I’ll vote blue.
My sense of it is that a majority of Democrats just want Trump out. And then there’s a sizable minority who specifically want Bernie in. I haven’t heard anybody say “If Biden (Warren, Buttigieg, etc.) isn’t the nominee, I won’t vote.” It’s mostly the “Blue-No-Matter-Who” crowd and the “Bernie-or-Bust” crowd, it seems to me. But I don’t know what the polls say - it’s just my opinion.
I don't love any of them, but I do believe Biden will get most moderate Dems and quite a few moderate Repubs, plus a big number of those so called Independents that I am not sure Bernis can get. I also get the feeling most Americans want some one they feel comfortable with. IMO
@Sticks48 We'll see if they get to see enough of Biden's dementia in the final two debates and if they are still comfortable with him after that sinks in, probably too late tho for Bernie to come back. I hope they see before the convention what a mistake it will be to nominate him.
@TomMcGiverin Both have too many weaknesses, but people feel like they know what they get with Biden and the moderate Dems don't care fo r Bernie, and the moderate Republicans don't likre Bernie at all, We will see.
