Surprises, yay or nay?
Personally, I am NOT a fan. I don't like surprises of any kind.
Life is unpredictable as it is.
What does the community think?
Oh man . I live in constant agony and surprises at work . I have no choice . The door opens and u don’t know what will come through or who is gonna try to punch u on the face .
And when u think all is good and calm and under control , surpise oh f surprise , grandma Moses will decide to stop breathing or Jonny the usual suspect will decide to bleed to death AND walk naked on the hallway . U know ?
I f hate surprises . When home and not on duty , I am a planner . I don’t need any surprises of any kind , I just want quiet and to have a little control of my fate !!!!
Yay . This was coffee brake just for u kk♥️
Going back in to be surprised I am sure
Depends on the context.
Surprise party yes, surprise home invasion no thank you
Lemme see, yesterday my 86 year old folks phone was disconnected so we get up early today to come accross the mountains, get here and can't find them. Look all over town for them. Find them in the ER, mom with 8 stitches in her head and my Alzheimery step dad surprisingly calm for watching his wife face plant onto the sidewalk. Cool. Everything's great.
Meet a lifelong friend for dinner after that who recently lost his wife (who I'd literally known my whole life), drinking a beer when we got to the restaurant. He'd been sober for 13 years. It's quit or die, his doctors told him.
He's only 61.
The best surprises? No surprises. I don't even like wrapped presents anymore.
Sometimes you're saying goodbye to a friend who is dying.
I'm an actor. We deal in surprises both good ("I god the lead?" ) and not so good ("I forgot my line and Spielberg is in the audience!" )
Prefer good ones but I have learned to take things in stride.
I haven't formed an opinion about surprises. Not much happens in my life, and I would welcome some nice surprises. BUT, surprises like a broken leg, blood in my urine, an automobile accident, or a close friend abandoning me due to her mental illness - those kinds of surprises I do not welcome.
Now that I think about it: nothing good has ever come to me in the form of a surprise. So, I think I agree with you.
I dislike surprises and I am the rare person that loves spoilers.... it got so uncomfy for people they started giving me FAKE spoilers so I'd leave em alone and still be surprised... ASSES! :/
I actually liked surprises on a certain level when my options were more fluid, now that I am on SS, Medicare, etc. I have to be more circumspect.
A surprise party sure but I DO NOT like my getting ready for the day routine disturbed especially when I was working. I have never been a crisis junkie and avoid that sort of person.
Not a fan of them. I would much rather have a good routine that I can follow during my day. It really winds me up when somebody thinks they are trying to help me out by intentionally changing up my routines and says they are doing it "for me." I usually give them one warning, then I cut them out of my life. I don't need that type of negativity and lack of continuity.
Some surprises can be good, many surprises can be bad.
Being paid a compliment is an example of the former, getting engine oil in the radiator coolant is an example of the latter.
P.S. I like your style here.
The Korean Police Action’s (War’s) starting in June of 1950 surprised me.
One result of the government’s sending me to it was the GI Bill’s paying part of my way through college.
In short, without that war ..., I don’t want to think of how horrid my life would have been.
Some surprises I enjoy.. Like when Aunt Flo decides not to make her monthly visit 👦👧 other surprises, not so much... The dow Jones drops 2000 points
Congratulations.
@KKGator oh thanks you didn't know about baby boy arriving in about 5+ months?
@Cutiebeauty Nope, sure didn't. Hope everything is going/goes well.
@KKGator everything is going good... Except for my diet... I'm eating much more meat than usual because of cravings.. Some suggest it's because im having a boy this time I'm not so sure about that...
Depends on what kind of surprise. Are we talking about a surprise gift or surprising someone when they don't know you are there thus scaring the hell out of them? Can't say I'd care for the latter...
I mean any kind of surprise. I don't like any of them.
Of course, to each their own, but I don't like being expected to enjoy them.
