The infection control trolls arrived , the people who work w me in a trauma level 1 hospital , yet they haven’t been in an isolation room ever in real life .

They were here to TELL ME , and anybody else , that starting today we WILL RE USE the isolation gowns .
Say what ? Yes ma’am . And wait . It gets better : not only your own gown that u wore in that c diff room , or MRSA , or Singles , or whatever the fuck . Oh no . Whatever gown is left hanging in the room , u will wear this until soiled and no longer able to wear .
And I thought , “ Is this a joke ? What time the clowns are coming and where are the monkeys ??”.
Once again , it pays to be 49 instead of 22. Tell me this 20 yrs ago , and the bull will have been released in the glass shop u know . But I sat there . Decisions are taken , me showing my ass won’t do any good .

Ea one of us was given ONE N95 mask . One . Uno ! FML ONE ! That’s it . Use it and reuse it and I suggest give it a name too . Afterall , will be my new best friend .
If u are familiar w N95, the whole point of how to apply and remove is important . I use them at TB cases , and yes we have plenty . Now I have to re use and “ save in my desk drawer”.
We ve been told that the shortage is great and that’s the best that can be done . And pretty much “ have a nice day “.
I am not furious or fearful about my self . I have one sister in the whole big world , and she is not the crying type either ! And honestly , I am sure I have breathe everything and I touched everything in 22 yrs . I am fearful of the new nurses and student docs , as it is , infection control is a bitch ! How u tell your people who are out there taking it all to treat your patients , that now can go home and spread diseases to their babies , wives and husbands . Really ?
Do these docs and nurses deserve this ?
