I used to have a screen name Zombie Jesus.. I was a total troll I figured out how to make comments using two different screen names at once (JZ and ETO) having arguments and answering in the same second.. people were confused on how I was doing that or if it was really two ppl typing..
News flash. It is not just the "deep South." This giant cross is located just a few miles away from Southern Illinois University.
You missed the sunrise service:
I just hit "hide" on religious posts on Facebook, for the few left after I purged the alt-right.
One thing I've never understood is the grammar of this sentence. Shouldn't it be he "has" risen?
The problem is the people in Judah back then spoke Aramaic, the Jesus story was conveyed orally and then written down years later, but the gospels are written in Greek, and here in the USA we read about Jesus in English. It is like a game of telephone...who the hell knows what really happened
Risen, I think, in this case, is treated as an adjective instead of a verb, describing a state of being rather than an action. It's the kind of dramatic language they like.
If you use the word in the present tense it means 'He' is and always has been. Something like that.
FB: "friend" posted a "He is Risen (etc...)" picture of Jesus yesterday that actually made me burst out laughing. Not only was he White, green-eyed & fine-boned, his face was framed by hair done in Flicks, model-man from what era I know not. And she was serious! We like our "reality" packaged. Good grief. At least I'm not in the South...
Dang, you must be further South than me I headed deep into NC yesterday (purposely taking its back roads), coming down off the Blue Ridge … and fortunately didn’t see any ‘like signs.’ Nothing like the damn ‘trump signs’ of yesteryear..
Last year I’d passed a small church who’s flock was apparently reenacting ..something. People dressed in robes like kings and slaves, and damsels in distress… The funny thing was, they appeared more interested in what passing drivers thought than whatever it was they were doing. I grinned … while missing the PNW ~
LOVE THE POSTER! Bunny brainzzzz! YUMMMMMM!
Chocolate bunny brains, even better.
