Well it seems there is ONE clue as why there's a Dunny paper shortage here in Broken Hill and what has happened to the supplies from Supermarkets.
Less than 10 minutes ago, I answered a knock on my front door to find a very scruffy, shady looking person standing at with a 6 pack of Dunny Paper in his hands.
He offered to sell it to me for a 'mere' $25.00 per pack or a 24 pack for a 'mere' $100.00 per pack.
Looking past him towards the front of my house and the road beyond, I noticed a car laden to the roof, back seat and luggage area ( it was a Station wagon btw), with pack upon packs of toilet paper in all sizes of packs and all brands.
When I asked how he came by so much dunny paper, he just replied, " Don't ask, just buy it or shut the F**k up."
Guess what, I refused to buy and as soon as he'd driven away I rang the local cops and gave the registration and description of him and his vehicle, bloody Blackmarketeers, a scourge if ever their was one.
Seize the goods, charge them with scamming, war profiteering and I suppose loitering/trespassing too!
Yes, the Police caught them about an hour later in the act, siezed everything and I got a reward of a 12 pack of toilet paper which I have shared with 3 other elderly neighbours.
@Triphid Thanks for sharing that. Should the magistrate sentence each of them to six months locked in the dunny?
@anglophone Yep, I reckon they should each get 6 months locked in an out-back, long-drop dunny with NO toilet paper and be fed on laxatives 3 times a day.
Bloody arseholes. I bought a couple of rolls in the supermarket today as I was down to my last 4. Most supermarkets in adelaide have loo paper now but because they only get.a delivery once a week they are only putting a bit out each day and it's getting sold out within a couple of hours. If you get to the shop first thing in the morning you may get it.
Put them all in nappies, and forget to change them for a month!
YEAH, love the idea plus make them walk around town in nothing but the nappies while wearing a sign telling everyone that they were selling blackmarket toilet paper.
