I find myself "hoarding" tasks so i have something to look forward to! (AS IF any homeowner ever ran out of stuff needing doing......)
Just in passing, your bedroom wall paint is very close to the color of mine. Warm and inviting.
I think you should make the masks to match your quilt colors! Much more uplifting!
I love you bedroom, the colors, looks really comfy. Good work on the quilt and afghan. My first thought of the mask was that the pattern was teeth. Them I focused looks great. I see the broom and the vacuum cleaner in your bedroom. This could lead one to think. (Laugh)
@Gwendolyn2018 The broom was what I thought was interesting, been a while since seeing one like it. It looks to be one from a time when they did not have to have seat belts, stay safe.
@Gwendolyn2018 Good, it is a bitch to fall off, it really hurts.
I'm having some trouble with plague masks!
True, I am not much of a seamstress. Still, it's a simple pattern. But I'm having trouble figuring out how to attach the dang thing to my head!
I had wished to avoid ear elastics, because they might be annoying. But whatever straps I try to put behind my head, end up sliding down my skull to rest at the nape of my neck.
Phooey! I'm almost ready to sew a full hood, and attach the mask to that!
@Gwendolyn2018 Is my head shaped funny, maybe? My husband tried one on, and said it fit fine.
The only elastic I have currently is wide - a half-inch or so. If I was making ear loops, I figured I would use hair elastics (like for ponytails).
I tried sewing a much wider strap of cloth - a couple of inches wide - that would attach to either side of the mask with Velcro. It still slid to the nape of my neck, but fit my husband just fine.
Maybe the wide cloth strap is the answer, but I just need to sew mine ridiculously big? If it already reached to the base of my neck, it can't really slide anywhere, right?
Ooh! As I was typing, a thought occurred to me! So simple, I'm embarrassed that it didn't occur to me sooner. I'll just put my hair in a ponytail! Duh! The ponytail will create a natural barrier.
(I suppose I could delete the rest of the post, but I wanted you to see that you did help me think this thing through. Thank you.)
That looks beautiful. I wish I could put nice things like that on.my bed, but my dogs would turn them into confetti
@Gwendolyn2018 My dogs have great taste in furniture. On a plus side, I never keep any around long enough to get bored with it
@Gwendolyn2018 ouch
@Gwendolyn
Your bed is beautiful and uplifting. Thanks for making masks.
Hospitals, clinics and nursing homes badly need masks.
Wow, that is so bright and alive, how do you sleep in it?
@Gwendolyn2018 no, the bedspread and the wall colour. Nice, but not soothing or peaceful.
@Gwendolyn2018 oh yeah, what does?
@Gwendolyn2018 sounds like a recent problem. I hope you've recovered
I always get great pleasure from putting on fresh bedding and decorating it with a colorful Afghan or throw. But I don’t have a selection of colorful homemade coverings
@Gwendolyn2018 I have tried knitting 🧶 but I have more patience for puzzling and woodworking than for yarn work. I do sew—I’m the go-to resource for repairing shirts and socks . But again, quilting requires more patience than I can muster. I do appreciate all fiber crafters & artists and their work!
@Gwendolyn2018 I have one of my grandmother’s colorful afghans . Oh. And I sew 🧵 buttons .
