Jesus loves you...but only if you believe in him. That's like loving your children but only if they pick up their toys. Otherwise severe punishment awaits you. If you don't accept Jesus' "gift" of salvation then God will make you pay dearly for your refusal.

In fact, not accepting this "gift" is a sin -- an offense against God. God certainly takes salvation very personally. Xians hear this story and hold it up as an example of God's perfect love and morality. I think it just demonstrates that God should be on Zyprexa or some other anti-psychotic.

The willingness of the faithful to excuse and justify the maniac behavior of their deity says a lot about their motive for believing: as long as they get to hold onto that fantasy of eternal life, they'll believe and/or excuse any other bullshit they have to.

Just please don't let me die, ever!

Pathetic.

This rant has been brought to you by the letter, Q and the number 4.

Oh yeah, Jesus loves you baby! Ezekiel 23:20 - lets make it happen!

2

I always loved the response... "Jesus may love you, but everyone else thinks you're an a$$hole!"

2

If Jesus loved me, he would have treated me better!

And IF Jesus truly loved me he'd come and mow my lawn, clean up the weeds, leaves, etc, and prune my fruit trees....LOL.

@Triphid Definitely.

@Observer-Effect Yeah but yours usually comes from Mexico doesn't he, Mexico is bloody long way from where I live....LOL.

@Triphid 🙂 Well another Jesus does come to visit me . . . but for different reasons. Oh yeah! We get after it, and involve red wine and goat entrails in the whole thing. Its hot!

For some reason i seem stuck at the 4th, 5th , 6th words, "but only if......"

God was too arrogant and proud to change a rule that he made in the first place. That's why it came to this.
You have to believe in him and know that he killed himself for you. In the real world this idea is insane.

Yep, that's a fun bit of logic to throw at beLIEvers. They never have a rational excuse. The "free will" argument is how they try to duck out of questions about why evil and suffering even exist. And this simple observation crushes the nuts of that excuse.

@Observer-Effect Totally agree with the context of your meme thing.

@Triphid Thank you, and I totally agree with your agreement with the context of the meme thing. <3

1

God like most parents, thinks everyone should like their kids just as much as they do, but most parents are not so fanatical about it as God. He is such a duoche.

2

Duh! Haven't you read the first 4 of the 10 commandments? 40% of their bullshit is commanding you to obey or else. Nothing new here folks!

2

I take my chances on not believing.

"I think it just demonstrates that God should be on Zyprexa or some other anti-psychotic."
ha i dunno why, the Bible does not condone that behavior, and It even says specifically that "wisdom is hidden from the wise?" "The best cure for Christianity is reading the Bible"

"The willingness of the faithful to excuse and justify the maniac behavior of their deity says a lot about their motive for believing: as long as they get to hold onto that fantasy of eternal life, they'll believe and/or excuse any other bullshit they have to."
yet No son of man may die for another's sins is plainly written, twice even, so why is Yah getting blamed again, and what for exactly? They wanna believe a Mithraist fantasy about going to the Elysian Fields after they have died, meh, so let em i say, bc again the Bible is very plain there, No one has ever gone up to heaven...

1

So basically God invented the protection racket, and the number one excuse for spousal abusers
"You made me hurt you, but it's for your own good so you will learn to be obedient"
God is a fucking dick!

ah, not seeing where Yah was in that anywhere? Why isnt the abuser the dick? Maybe im reading that wrong

@bbyrd009 it's a metaphor in such instances gawd IS the dick, that is my point

@LenHazell53 "gawd?" yikes

If god were real, it's a monster. Everything about a christian's personal relationship with Jesus screams abusive relationship. If your SO threatened you with torture and death for not loving him or her you could and should leave and get a restraining order.

It's all make-believe.

2

Christian belief is predicated on fear and self loathing. I'll pass on that, thank you.

1

Jesus never existed. It's a Ponzi scheme.

Even from an early age this did not make sense to me thus I was a doubter from my first having been introduced to this gibberish. I tried, I really tried to believe but just could not get there. Born with a logical mind, I guess. Thankful for that which i brought from the last life. (haha). But maybe?

2

This is one of the reasons for my deconversions. I have two kids age 12 and 10. No matter what they do to me i would always want the best for them. I couldn't imagine creating a place of untold torture that i would send them to if they didn't do exactly what i said especially considering that im the one the made people so that they would enjoy sin. Thats pure craziness. God made us to want to sin and when we do sin he's gonna punish us even though he made us to enjoy it. Why didn't he make us so that we wouldn't sin. Of course i'm asking stupid hypothetical questions when the real answer is that either God is sadistic, doesnt care of its all bs.

If we do not sin then jebus died for nothing.

Jesus forgives you for all your sins yo relieve you of guilt for all the mistakes and missteps you have ever made in life. But, you can be reminded at any time (and at regular intervals) of the excruiating pain you cause Jesus dying on the cross due to your sins both past and current. In effect, one is expected to trade guilt for real events and misdeeds (some might say life lessons) for imagined guilt we can't ever do a thing about. Great system, right? Pins believers to the organization for any relief of their guilt only to have it dumped back on them with an extra dose, and the cycle repeats.

But we also have to remember that since Jesus is God the pain he had to endure mustve been a piece of cake. I mean really if you can create the whole universe with a snap of the finger then dying on the cross mustve been like having a tea party.

@abyers1970 Nah, you missed the point. He was god turned into a human, so then he could feel the pain as a human. Still a bunch of crap.

@starwatcher-al No I understand the point of turning into human but if he is still god as a human then the cross shouldn’t be near as difficult for him as us

@JohnnyQB Yes and when I'm 'informed' that 'God gave his only son' I always say in return " But are we NOT also the Children of God and if so, why aren't we as important to our Heavenly Father as his 'only' son was ?"
The moments, many long minutes in fact, of silence followed with countless 'Ummms, Ahhhs, Errrrs, buts, 'well it's like this' responses and the faces showing utter confusion make it all worth the words and effort.

If Jesus is real and wants me to follow him, he'll have to send me some evidence. Otherwise, the available evidence convinces me that his religion is a myth and a scam.

Didn't you get the email ?

@Moravian yes. Now with email surely god can eliminate all the middlemen like Kenneth Copeland and communicate directly with us.

@abyers1970 But there is profit in being a prophet

@Moravian I did but I marked it as a Phishing Scam and deleted it.
