The liberals would like to ban all hunting as they just can’t accept it. Personally I think hunting’s fine but I just can’t get to excited about shooting a giraffe.
@Trajan61
I think hunting is fine as long as the kill is used for something, food for humans or dogs. I don't like "sport hunting" unless the meat is used for something useful. Otherwise it's just wasteful.
I actually have a vegetarian friend who has killed animals for his friends dinner before. They were too scared to do it.
All I know is that I could train a squirrel to shoot a stationary giraffe or elephant. I don't see the excitement. I'm not against hunting in general, just not mega-fauna. I think the girl in the pic has daddy issues.
A guy once showed me a pic of a large buck he shot, I shrugged my shoulders and said whatever. He asked if I was one of those PETA people. I said no. He got defensive and asked what my problem was. I told him I was not impressed that he shot a deer, if he wanted to impress me then chase one down on foot and kill it with your bare hands. Any idiot can shoot a deer from 2-3 hundred yards, drop out of a tree and kill one with a knife. Then I'll be impressed.
I saw this pic on some other media site (maybe Twitter) and it pissed me off so bad that i made a comment that maybe karma would get this girl in the form of teeth and claws next. I was attacked by a some readers, basically it was; "what a horrible person you are for wishing harm to come to this little girl", I had a back and forth argument with one of them for a while. IMO, trophy hunters suck no matter what they're hunting(or fishing), or their age.
Well hello... if you 'wish harm to come' to the girl, you fucking deserved to be attacked...
Yes! What on earth can be great about KILLING this beautiful animal! If all life can be reduced down to a celebration of killing it...we are all in grave danger! Don't we see some of this played out in our current human social order?
Yeah, this is sick. This person has no respect for life. To them it is just a toy to be broken than discarded for amusement. Now thanks to these people we have a few less vital members of an endangered species on the planet.
That is just dispicible. I come from a hunting family. They hunted for deer, which were overpopulated in our area and there are regulations regarding what you can hunt (doe or buck). If the population isn't kept in check, they can starve to death slowly over time. We also ate the venison and didn't just kill them because yay guns. Why kill something that's endangered?
Perhaps she should read The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell
@jorj Please provide a shred of proof that giraffes kill offspring.
@RDaneel no doubt. He's a known troll on the site. Also the species is endangered so how in the hell would "they" allow trophy hunts? Idiot
I hate the trophy hunters! That why I was happy a while back when a lion ate a lion poacher. What rotten fucking people.
It was karma...for sure!
Not only are giraffes not endangered, prior to 2016 (we don't know when the photo was taken) they were classified as "Least Concern".
Ok - partially valid point about not knowing when this was taken.
But it's for reasons like this that animals get put on the endangered species list.
Also - still hunting, killing, standing triumphantly over the dead body of a virtually harmless animal ... just for kicks. Still deplorable.
Just because we can't identify the date of the event, doesn't make the act right.
It's Not Ok - regardless of being on the endangered list or not.
That doesn't make killing them for sport remotely acceptable. Never will.
[smithsonianmag.com]. You are mistaken.
@RDaneel That article says exactly what I said. In late 2016 giraffes were reclassified from "Least Concern" to Vulnerable" -- which is still less critical than "Endangered".
I really hate the utter disregard for nature some people have just for the sake of their own "fun". This is not something you should be proud of or have any reason to do, you're just a prick at this point if you indulge in such activities.
Yes, this
