It actually comes directly from Latin, a 'dead' language that is still used in numerous places, etc, across the world.

@AnneWimsey Latin is classed as being 'Dead' simply because, unlike most modern languages, it no longer increases in vocabulary.

But how about we all vote for ScumMo's new Theme song to be " Going to Hawaii" in honour of his chicken-shit running away for a 'holiday' when the country was in flames last Summer?
Oh, but I forgot, he DID offer up a perfect (????) Excuse/reason/alibi for that didn't he?
After all, he HAD promised the family to take them on holidays to Hawaii AND he needed a Well Earned and Well Deserved Break as well, the poor dear Fellow.
So, while he was living it up in Hawaii hundreds of Volunteers were working the arses off 24/7 fighting raging Bushfires, saving people and their homes, animals, etc, etc, and when returns, finally, he quibbles and dithers over compensating these Volunteers and the families for lost incomes.
Then, finally and to my mind quite begrudingly, offers them a WHOLE $30 per day for ONLY 60 days btw, when they've been fighting fires for at least 2 months solid already, most have NOT seen their families in all that time, NONE had any hope of being home for Xmas or New Year celebrations and 1 example I personally know of is my cousin Max, who dropped everything and headed off to the fight when the very first fire broke out, and now he has months of recovery to go through because he has 1st. and 2nd. degree burns from his right shoulder to his right foot caused by a burning tree collapsing on him and fellow fire'fighter, his fellow fire-fighter btw, is still alive BUT has 2nd. degree burns to about 45% of his body and can never hope to work again.
The ONLY compensation they can both hope to get is from the R.F.S. Volunteer Insurance Scheme BUT nothing from the Governments.

@Triphid yeah, don't get me started either. I've had fools tell me he should be able to have a holiday. Bullshit, being PM is a 24/7 job and if you can't hack that then you shouldn't be there.

@Cyklone Yeah and HE should have been on-board 110% of the time during 'Black Summer' NOT sitting on the beach or whatever else in Hawaii.
