Revisited a favorite song today... lyrics then a recording. It suits my spirit well.
I was born
under a wandrin' star
I was born
under a wandrin' star
Wheels are made for rollin'
Mules are made to pack
I've never seen a sight
that didn't look better looking back
I was born under a wandrin' star
Mud can make you prisoner,
and the plains can bake you dry
Snow can burn your eyes,
but only people make you cry
Home is made for comin' from,
for dreams of goin' to
Which with any luck will never come true
I was born under a wandrin' star
I was born under a wandrin' star
Do I know where hell is?
Hell is in hello
Heaven is goodbye for ever,
it's time for me to go
I was born under a wandrin' star
A wandrin' wandrin' star
When I get to heaven tie me to a tree
Or I'll begin to roam and soon
you know where I will be
I was born under a wandrin' star
A wandrin' wandrin' star
A wandrin' wandrin' star

I love everything about this movie...except Clint Eastwood singing.
Whoever knew that Lee could sing? Love the song.
From the Musical /Movie of " Paint your Wagon" starring Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood.
Got a copy of it on DVD.
A little too long but has some of the bet lines in cinema. Just to hear Clint Eastwood sing is almost as good as his speech at the RePUDlican convention..
Lee Marvin used to live in Tucson. I knew a guy who called him, and to his credit, it was the 70's, Lee was very polite, but asked that he not call again. Imagine a star today having a listed phone number.
I was in Tombstone a couple of days ago (about 100 miles away) at a restaurant and heard an old cowboy singer local to this area who goes around with three guitars (one six-string, one twelve-string, one eighteen-string) and books thick with tunes he's collected. I wouldn't be completely surprised if he was familiar with this song.
