Although, I do know that dogs can understand a lot of words and commands and I know they can, and do, communicate with their people, and I also think that they might think in words, in the voice of the humans they are around, I am skeptical about this. [theconversation.com]

Most dogs understand around 200 total words, hand gestures, whistles.

Yea, there's Bunny the talking dog as well.
What if you teach your dog to talk and he will not shut up?
What if all he wanted to say was HEY!
It sounds like what dogs are saying, HEY!, HEY!, HEY!, HEY!
Or worse you and your dog try Jeopardy and he beats you.

seen the one where the owner is referring to a hamster as "friend" and the dog keeps pressing "food?"
priceless!
