Just finished writing up the 'Logs' for the A.O.F.F.F.E. ( excuse the pun but the Team thought that calling the records 'Logs' might be worth a laugh) and we have, so far, cut, split and stacked, including the deliveries earlier, 98.76 metric tonnes of firewood, learned earlier this week of 11 more homes and families in need of firewood as well as previous listings.
Those homes/families will be getting their deliveries tomorrow (Saturday).
Scrubba and Woody have cleaned the chimneys and Flues of every home on our original listings and will do those 11 new listings next week.
A.O.F.F.F.E. has been given the use of an aged Flat-bed truck by the local R.M.A. Office so we may transport cut to length logs from dead tree trunks and limbs, etc, BACK to the compound and cut them to size, etc, there and in place as well.
Lucky for the Team, Old Prickles, 63 years young, so he informs us, still has his Heavy Goods Vehicle License and can do all the driving.
This has turned into a Big Operation! Well Done All!
We all realized yesterday afternoon that IF we were venal people and were selling it, which we refuse to do btw, we'd be sharing out between us approx. $A350.00 per metric tonne.
But we are getting even bigger, better and longer lasting rewards in hugs, smiles, words of thanks and appreciation, oh, the home-made cakes, scones and hot tea or coffee of course.
Logs of logs? A log-log table perhaps? (Sorry not sorry for the terrible joke. Or is it a grown joke?)
And very well done all of you!
