The Texas Republican Abortion law is not only unconstitutional it’s inhumane, cruel and sexist.
“I'm not pro-murdering babies.
I'm pro-Becky who found out at her 20 week anatomy scan that the infant she had been so excited to bring into this world had developed without life sustaining organs.
I'm pro-Susan who was sexually assaulted on her way home from work, only to come to the horrific realization that her assailant planted his seed in her when she got a positive pregnancy test result a month later.
I'm pro-Theresa who hemorrhaged due to a placental abruption, causing her parents, spouse, and children to have to make the impossible decision on whether to save her or her unborn child.
I'm pro-little Cathy who had her innocence ripped away from her by someone she should have been able to trust and her 11 year old body isn't mature enough to bear the consequence of that betrayal.
I'm pro-Melissa who's working two jobs just to make ends meet and has to choose between bringing another child into poverty or feeding the children she already has because her spouse walked out on her.
I'm pro-Brittany who realizes that she is in no way financially, emotionally, or physically able to raise a child.
I'm pro-Emily who went through IVF, ending up with SIX viable implanted eggs requiring selective reduction in order to ensure the safety of her and a SAFE amount of fetuses.
I'm pro-Jessica who is FINALLY getting the strength to get away from her physically abusive spouse only to find out that she is carrying the monster's child.
I'm pro-Vanessa who went into her confirmation appointment after YEARS of trying to conceive only to hear silence where there should be a heartbeat.
I'm pro-Lindsay who lost her virginity in her sophomore year with a broken condom and now has to choose whether to be a teenage mom or just a teenager.
I'm pro-Courtney who just found out she's already 13 weeks along, but the egg never made it out of her fallopian tube so either she terminates the pregnancy or risks dying from internal bleeding.
You can argue and say that I'm pro-choice all you want, but the truth is:
I'm pro-life.
Their lives.
Women's lives.
You don't get to pick and choose which scenarios should be accepted.
It's not about which stories you don't agree with. It's about fighting for the women in the stories that you do agree with and the CHOICE that was made.
Women's rights are meant to protect ALL women, regardless of their situation!”

We sometimes hear anti-abortionists talk about women who die because of a legal abortion, and there is a mortality rate for the procedures. But it is still lower than the mortality rate of pregnancy and childbirth. Until we can reliably say these numbers are reversed, the government has no business forcing women to carry and give birth to a child before the fetus is viable outside the womb.

Not to mention the mortality rate of ILLEGAL abortions.

Perfect!

Pro-life laws have never been about life, as claimed they are all about controling and punishing women. It stems directly from grotesquely mysogynistic judeo-christian ideology, in which women are regarded as chattel. This is the stuff of Handmaid's Tale. It is horrific.

They really don't care. There are no nuances for them, it's just a black and white issue. They will find a way for the women in their lives to obtain abortions because they're "special," but everyone else are low-level breeder workers and we can't be trusted to make good, intelligent, Christian choices. They are evil.

In Texas women count for nothing

I’m with you 100%..this is a human rights issue - the human right of a woman to have dominion over her own body, and the right to exercise her choice whether to carry a child to term or not. Nobody should be involved in that choice except a woman and her physician.

Very well argued except for Vanessa. She will not be a teenager, except in sequential numbering, again. I think abortion is fine at any time since this idea of human life having value is garbage. The fact that we are ready to resume Civil War over this idea proves that we don't.

It's also Nazi, primarily due to the law deputizing everyone on Earth to enforce it.
Like Germans turning in their neighbors for being at least in some part Jewish.
Same thing, it's right out of 1984, which is what the idiots claim Democrats are all about, they make these claims because they're malicious authoritarians that LOVE BIG GOVERNMENT.
They speak anti "big government" all the time when it comes to environmental regulations because God won't let humans hurt his Earth or some other stupid argument so corporations can keep stealing money from the public, but they're all for government being all up in our sex lives, which is objectively MUCH BIGGER GOVERNMENT.

Years ago, Karl Rove wrote a list of strategies to help Republicans win elections. One of his strategies was to accuse your opponents of your own weaknesses. I think of this tidbit every time I hear a Republican accuse Democrats of something the GOP is cleanly guilty of, or when I hear someone say that Republicans accuse someone else of something but it's what Republicans are all about.

@russrab that.
