Sad news.
The Far Western Region of New South Wales, Australia recorded its very first loss of life to the COVID virus last Thursday afternoon.
The region, quite vast and expansive when one takes a good look at a map, stayed both COVID Free and COVID Safe right from the first case to hit Australia.
Approx. 1 month ago now, there was an Indigenoous Funeral held a Wilcannia, a township on the Darling River, followed by 2 "Wake" style parties attended by far more people than allowed/permitted by the Pandemic rules and regulations as they stand.
One attendee brought the virus with him from Bathurst, central N.S.W., infected others at the Funeral and the Wakes (???) then it spread.
Any loss to this virus is a loss to ALL human kind and even sadder, imo, since it NEED not have happened HAD those involved at its first point of entry into the region been a lot more caring and social conscious.
According to reports, the victim remains unnamed for now, but was a male of Indigenous lineage aged at approx. 50 years of age.
Ergo, by Indigenous Native Australian Lore, the Indigenous Community has lost one of its Elders, how many more will be lost thanks to the selfishness and carelessness of those attending that Funeral?
