THE OTHER MAN WHO WANTED TO BE PRESIDENT
ANDREW YANG LEAVING DEMOCRATIC PARTY
Andrew Yang is not a Democrat any more. He wanted to president on the Democratic Party platform just last year [politico.com]
He loses presidential run, he loses NYC mayoral run, he did not get any office in the Biden administration as he had hoped... he is now on to new theatrics.
FROM POLITICO
....
Former presidential and New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Yang announced Monday he has changed his voter registration, making official his break with the Democratic Party.
“I’ve been a Democrat my entire adult life,” Yang wrote in a blog post explaining his decision. “And yet, I’m confident that no longer being a Democrat is the right thing.”
He thought he could buy his way into office. He appealed to the left an we aren't for sale. He would sell better to republicons.
Right, He probably thought that political opportunities are like buying and selling tech stocks.
Anybody who becomes a Repug at this point in time has something severely wrong with them!!!!!!!!!
Agreed, but Yang changed to the Independent party.
His put down of the Palestinians shows that he was just an opportunist.
Although brilliant, he shows no understanding of how capitalism developed historically and manifests itself internationally, creating increasing injustice and climate destruction.
He does not have the deep commitment of Bernie Sanders nor the insightful analysis of Naomi Klein...
He got his universal basic income, and now we can't find people to work at retail stores, work at restaurants, or drive trucks.
Democrats have two categories. People who have good ideas but are bad candidates. And people with bad ideas and are bad candidates. He is category 2.
I had high hopes for him when he ran for president (After Bernie Sanders of course). He talked liked a real progressive for the most part, but after he dropped out of the race and threw his support for Biden over Bernie I knew he was just another clown.
Good ideas is one thing but the ability to win or even getting close to winning is entirely another. There are some people who are not built to win big. Yang is one of them. I am another.
Based on his statements, he was never a democrat in the first place. Another greedy, grasping corrupt corporation mole politician, yes.
I fully agree. There are a few crackpots in both parties who think cheering at a local gathering is national support to run for president. It is sad how people think they can fly. One guy was clearly an example of it in 2004. His name was Wesley Clark.
Sorry folks, I realized what happened. The link included 'a period' at the end of the sentence and the internet does not recognize it.
I have changed the link above but here is another in the NYT [nytimes.com]
Now he going to launch a third party, the joke does not end here, please stay tuned for more = [politico.com]
Will be interesting to see what his next move is.
The next move is go down fast, he can be an inconsequential Congress member but being a senator will be hard.
So he threw a temper tantum and left the democratic party. He's just a tiny blip on my radar.
These are called matchsticks. They light up, flare up and extinguish quickly for good. Never to light up again and nobody looks at it again. He is in the extinguishing stage. I hope someone in the family or friends put some sense into him and so he start making a living. Maybe get a Silicon Valley job. Else we are going to read his wife is filing for a divorce. Asian families are big on good living and status. I know and am just a little South of them, very similar.
