"Following a 16-year bet Republicans laid down in 2006 to block Postal EVs, DeJoy just told Biden to go screw himself: he’s going to buy fossil-fuel vehicles for 90% of the fleet instead of electric."
Good intentions gone wrong.
To keep the US Postmaster General out of a partisan swamp, only a postal commission majority has the power to fire her/him.
Biden needs a majority on the commission to fire DeJoy. I’ve heard that Biden will soon have appointed the commission’s majority.
He has appointed them, the Senate has to confirm the final one, being held up by a privilege claim
I am so weary of hearing that Republicans are holding up our system - at all levels - while Democrats politely follow established rules with their hands tied. DeJoy should have been removed from office on Day 1 of the new administration, if for no other reason than sabatouging the election.
Rest assured that both Dems and Repubs own shares in the fossil fuel industry.
"On average, the Republicans invested in the fossil fuel industry have as much as nearly $1.1 million invested each, more than twice as much as the average of the maximum amount the invested Democrats have ($480,000)." [readsludge.com]
