Torture should never happen, no matter what. It just makes us animals. Punishment yes but torture no. Look at history and you will find that US soldiers did some horrible things to civilians and not only US soldiers either. It has to stop.

Agreed, it has to stop. The question is how to stop it, and I am at a loss as to how to answer that question.

But does the Holey Babble say that " What thou givest shalt thou also receiveth."
And in this sickening case I think a little publicly shown " Like for Like" may well be justified.

@Triphid Nooo that just makes us as bad as them.

@Jolanta Yes, sorry I let anger take control of the emotions there.
However, does NOT the Holey Babble state " Do unto others they would do unto you"?

Interesting because a critical part of the message has been overtly left out. One thing in today's warfare that has become commonplace are people calling in troops on their side giving information on the location of enemy troops. The Russian thought he was calling in their position. Apparently, it was not just murder for the fun of it as so many have posted. Still, these are the kind of things that warfare often leads. This is also often the case with sending young, inexperienced soldiers to battle.

I might be wrong but it reads to me as though we may well have Putin admirer in our midst.

Send that special request to the Ukrainian Army. They might do a video of it for you.

Shishimarin is just a kid. What a waste.

Brain-washing ruins another life. This is the fate of ALL those who serve in the military. They are consistently trained to follow orders and conform to the group. I know; my son was one of them for a time. While I am proud that he served, especially in the way he chose, but I watched his once critical thought process disappear, in order to become part of the “cohesive unit” called the military. I also witnessed the internal conflict this caused for him. No wonder the sensitive among them end up with PTSD.

@MsKathleen as you say, and I hope your son recovers, but PTSD has absolutely nothing to do with sensitivity and everything to do with the severity of the combat. 100% of people will suffer PTSD in some circumstances ("On Combat" by D Grossman to quote just one source)

Putin, and his political/military supporters, all deserve the worst that can be done to them.

There is a great amount of confusion in this Ukrainian invasion. Many are convinced that the other side is not even human. This type of thinking leads to war crimes like this. I find that thinking in this caliber has also invaded American politics. In other words, it all happens because of brainwashing.

Thinking may predispose one to a war crime but lack of leadership (officer control) is what allows it.

Always has, always will. What other explanation can there be for men and women to march into the hell of war knowing there is a good chance they will never come back or at least not in one piece. Their leaders told them there was no other way! Once one side convinces their followers, the other side has little choice but to do the same.

Happens all over. The same has been done to prison inmates and pedophiles. No matter what they've done, they are still human and should be treated as such, including the subject of this post.
