I'd like to believe you're right, but...
The serious, salient take-home lesson that no one talks about is that Justice Delayed is Justice Denied also applies to the victims of the wealthy. Allowing the wealthy to use judicial delays to evade justice denies the non-rich of justice. We either ensure that the wealthy can't buy their way out of criminality or we ensure there are no wealthy, one way or the other.
You make good points. I admit I don't know what the future will bring. My gut tells me Trump will be indicted. But all I can say is wait and see.
@Flyingsaucesir I'm with Howard, the rich always end up taking care of their own and never sending them to prison, unless, like Bernie Madoff, they steal from other rich people..
@TomMcGiverin I hope you're wrong on this one, and I think you hope you're wrong too.
@Flyingsaucesir Of course I hope I'm wrong, but when it comes to politics and crimes of pols, I am so seldom wrong. I lost a bet on the last presidential election, betting that Trump would beat Biden, but the problem was, I made the bet too early, before Covid hit. Because we all know damn well that if Covid had not happened, been bungled by Trump and the economy crashing as a result, he would have easily beat Biden last time. It's all about the timing. I still honored the bet, but I know damn well that Covid was the only reason I lost it.
And the guy I lost the bet to admitted that if Covid hadn't happened, Biden would have lost and I would have won the bet.
@TomMcGiverin I am betting that Cheato will be indicted, but not betting that he will do prison time. I think house arrest and a ban from elected office are real possibilities.
I'd say that weight is greatly underestimated... Poor Melania. And EWWWW, I didn't need to go there this morning, gotta to wash my brain off...
