One can only control ones actions in response to feelings. I learned that the hard way....but I did learn that lesson. Please don't vote with feelings. "I don't really LIKE Hillary".

The Enchiridion by Epictetus

The question is, 'Are you never in control of your feelings?'.

Some things are in our control and others not. Things in our control are opinion, pursuit, desire, aversion, and, in a word, whatever are our own actions. Things not in our control are body, property, reputation, command, and, in one word, whatever are not our own actions.

I learned very late that I can walk away from someone I love that is not good for me...I think this is something a younger person might feel.

I would argue about “never”.

When I got older and improved my habits, I felt better. What you do impacts how you feel.
