Be skeptical of them socialist tits folks. They may look like they'll be able to feed you well, but they're designed to snare you into a life that's dependent upon the Government, for the rest of your life. I've not the slightest clue if Sowell actually said that, doubt he did.
Personally, I prefer Pholosopher tits.

Laissez faire in itself entails nothing about a freedom embracing political system. Libertarian economics was perfectly compatible with an authoritarian military regime that disappears people. See the influence of Chicago school economics upon Chile under Pinochet.
That Keynes embraced intervention to tamp down the effects of the business cycle does not entail fascism even if the latter also intervenes into economics. Fascism itself depends upon bringing back the conditions of some mythic past state or palingenetic ultranationalism: [en.m.wikipedia.org]

The trouble with so-called liberals nowadays are that they aren't genuinely liberal in the sense, and closer to that progressive brand of politics which is just another form of authoritarianism.
