If you had to choose a god?

I would probably pick Conan’s god, Crom.

“Bêlit shuddered. 'Life, bad as it is, is better than such a destiny.
What do you believe, Conan?'
He shrugged his shoulders. 'I have known many gods. He who denies them
is as blind as he who trusts them too deeply. I seek not beyond death.
It may be the blackness averred by the Nemedian skeptics, or Crom's
realm of ice and cloud, or the snowy plains and vaulted halls of the
Nordheimer's Valhalla. I know not, nor do I care. Let me live deep while
I live; let me know the rich juices of red meat and stinging wine on my
palate, the hot embrace of white arms, the mad exultation of battle when
the blue blades flame and crimson, and I am content. Let teachers and
priests and philosophers brood over questions of reality and illusion. I
know this: if life is illusion, then I am no less an illusion, and being
thus, the illusion is real to me. I live, I burn with life, I love, I
slay, and am content.”

Most of the founders of our Constitution were Diest's. They believed in some sort of creator but, one who did not interfere in any of its creations. [merriam-webster.com]

Wouldn't choose any god. They all suck.

Especially the male ones!?

@jackjr Yes, especially those fictional assholes.

@KKGator I agree, (non-fictional) male and female.

“Gods don’t like that sort of thing,” said the barman. “We get that in here some nights, when someone’s had a few. Cosmic speculation about whether gods really exist. Next thing, there’s a bolt of lightning through the roof with a note wrapped around it saying ‘Yes, we do’ and a pair of sandals with smoke coming out. That sort of thing, it takes all the interest out of metaphysical speculation.”

I choose DOG!

Dogs are loyal.

@Betty no shit, lady Sherlock!

Hail Satan!

Me. Why not, if we are making stuff up. I'll be benevolent to many and wrathful to some and not hide in the shadows.

4

Why would I be choosing a god?

Just for fun? Kind of like which marvel character would want to be.

One might say I chose a God years ago when I started worshipping Ben & Jerry?! Well technically that’s two Gods I reckon?! I suppose that makes me a polytheist!?! 👀

@TXLerins No thanks.

Conan "lived" in a time before modern science. His views on metaphysics are an irrelevant anachronism. That being said, I enjoyed reading Conan the Barbarian. 🙂

I could get into that, being a mini anarchist.

@Gwendolyn2018 Interesting, maybe I should give them a try.

I kind of like the Mormon God.
If your really good, one gets a whole planet closet to the light and with 33 babes.

Or some kind of nature God,, something I can understand.

I wouldn't know what to do with a whole planet. Or 33 babes for that matter.

There's only one god to worship and that is Bacchus/Dionysus. You've gotta love the grape when it's been properly prepared.

3

Spinoza's God.

5

Id choose Jah Rastafari. You get to smoke alot of weed (Ganja)

Can you get so high, it can float you to heaven?

And listen to lots of cool Reggae music!

@nowhereman55 I can already do those things, what do I need a god for?

Exactly!
