Don't know much about fresh water fish. Never learned to fish. What is the tastiest fresh water fish?

Mess o fried crappie gets my vote.

Walleye

Perch are a close second.

Remember, if you give a man a fish he'll eat for a day, but if you teach him to fish, he'll starve to death before he would admit that he didn't catch anything.

Catfish and bass are my freshwater favorites.

Hard to beat a good catfish, but rainbow trout takes it for me.

I find catfish pretty awesome, nice fine white flesh, sweet, moist, but I still prefer rainbow trout.

I haven't had trout, because they aren't in the waterways that I fish. I'll give it a shot. I like to rough it and catch my dinner and I know how to catch catfish and bass. Fly fishing is completely foreign to me.

Rainbow trout, wild caught in a mountain stream or lake, cooked in a pan over a wood campfire.

Forget the pan, wrap them in bacon, put a lemon slice inside them, and cook them in the coals.

@JimG I've done it that way, too. Pan works better for breakfast, but as long as it's trout, it's good no matter which way.

I agree with JimG. I grew up on a family fish farm. Love all kinds of fish but Walleye and Perch are the best in my opinion too.

A medium size one with a slice of lime, tomato and onion and bake.(not overbaked)

Sadly, the most delicious fish I ever ate was a rainbow trout pulled right out of the mountain stream and popped right into the frying pan.
I wish I didn't eat fish at all, but I seem to need the Omega-3 oil.

Walleye is one of the best. Pike or pickerel is also good if one knows how to get rid of the y-bones.

People have beaten me to it, but I saw your question, and no doubts, rainbow trout wins, a fish in a class of its own.

Tilapia is a tasty fish and it's a vegetarian so it can be farmed sustainably. It's a win-win! ?

Tilapia is trash dude, c'mon
