Better understanding from the etymology of rape might give insight. Perhaps it's about taking ones genetelia by force.
rape (v.)
late 14c., rapen, "seize prey; abduct, take and carry off by force," from rape (n.) and from Anglo-French raper (Old French rapir) "to seize, abduct," a legal term, probably from Latin rapere "seize, carry off by force, abduct" (see rapid). Also figuring in alliterative or rhyming phrases, such as rape and renne (late 14c.) "seize and plunder."
I was raised in the Mormon church, and they are more concerned about appearances and not being embarrassed than they are about actual rape.
One of my nieces as a young teen was gang raped in the church building by a group of boys. She was pressured into keeping it quiet, because "Those boys needed to go on missions and raise families", and it would ruin their lives and their futures if she went to the authorities. Patriarchal religions tend to excuse any actions cone by males as "boys will be boys".
I have also read about tthe Mormon church covering up child sexual abuse involving adults. Usually rationalized as not wanting to break up families if a father or mother goes to prison.
Luckily for me, from a very young age I knew I did not fit or belong in that religion. When my oldest brother got a job where he worked on Sundays and did not have to go to church, I was just six, but formed a plan that when I turned sixteen, It'd get a job where I had to work on Sundays and would no longer hve to attend church services. Until then I just endured and tried to get along.
You know what it Actually is?
NONE OF YER EFFIN' BUSINESS!
"Don't rape yourself let our priests do it for you...."
This message brought to you by not only the Mormons but the Catholics and Baptists as well....
DOH! I came early again.
So what is a wet dream? God raping you?
No, that's when you get to burn the old lady down the lane at the stake and seize her assets.
