I was watching a documentary about tattoos and society's reaction to people who took it to the extreme. Would you ever consider getting your face tattooed?
I'll have ink done just about anywhere other than face or neck. Those spots are too sensitive on me, so it'd be way too painful. Also I like to decorate those areas with makeup and jewellery, instead.
Personally, I see the body as a beautiful canvas and if one wants to decorate it with tattoos or piercings or whatever, more power to 'em. I've got two so far and am planning more.
No. But it's not the face aspect. I don't have any tattoos and wouldn't want or get one.
Most tattoos, piercings, and other "body art" look unhealthy and ugly to me, so no I wouldn't get my face tattooed.
.
No tattoos are for felons and military personnel. Covering up a perfectly good body with an ugly tattoo is just disgusting and unacceptable.
I did 20 years as military personnel. Not a single minute sporting a tattoo. So were you got your data from?
Pssst--this isn't the 1950s.
@SKETCHYZOMBIE I lol’d at your first comment. Didn’t expect that. Most people against tattoos on others are fond of placing judgement. His comment war more strange than offensive.
I want 3, very personal and i want them private lol
Sorry, but I don't like tattoos for aesthetic reasons.
They're akin to taking a can of spray paint to the Taj Mahal. It is gilding the lily.
There comes a point too when nakedness is no longer possible because it's been killed off by the tattoo artist's handiwork.
I've chatted with some nice men on dating sites. Men who've been witty, handsome, intelligent etc, but their tattoos have put me off them. I feel shallow for saying that but I can't help it.
I hate 'sleeves'. They look like the first stages of decomposition on a corpse. I hate crucifixes, which symbolise so much that is negative and I hate ex-girlfriends' names branded on chests, their permanent reminder of past intimacies gone wrong staring me in the face.
No tattoos - none at all - is very attractive to me and it means they can be totally naked.
It's getting easier in the work place but it's still hit and miss. Yes, I'd love to add some decorative pieces to my forhead or around the eyes.
If someone needs a valid reason for nobody to hire him then face tattoos may be the ticket..... Unless the job it's a part in some Hollywood movie... I don't know. I don't have any tattoos but I think that more than not, they can be hot and sexy.... On the face that's perhaps the line don't want to cross
Mike Tyson still probably makes more than you and I combined.. There is a place now for tattoos in society.. I was Gen X.. You're welcome..
@Loud_Love he is obviously the exception to rule. I am sure he can afford to do things even more outrageous than tattoos on his face and get away with it. On the other hand, no doubt he makes more than you and I combined, still don't see the relation with the issue being discussed... You're welcome too
I worked for the state. I’m covered in ink. And have my lip tattooed. Experience and ability still count for something some places.
Nope. I've no tattoos.
A few scars which seems enough body decoration for me.
No I would never get a tattoo unless the artist could tattoo a work of art on the caliber of the Mona Lisa on my butt.
I think I'll pass....@Omen6Actual
There are many artists that could do that.
Only cosmetically. I had a very subtle eye brow tattoo and it has now faded dramatically I will not have it done again because as one ages these inks makes the face very hard looking. Patterns, elaborate designs I do not care for. It is mutilation and I believe very unhealthy! How will these tattoos look like when someone is in their senior years. Indistinguishable and sagging.
A very good friend of mine had a pot leaf and a crown of thorns tattooed on his forehead. Now thats commitment. It suited him well. After all, if youre going to legally change your name to Chief Wanadubie, and then run for political office on the Dubie vs Blunt campaign, well...
Considering the number of sensory nerves in our faces....oh, HELL no!
My face is tattooed by nature - freckles upon freckles, scars and wrinkles.
The tattoos on my body are my chooice and tell the stories of my ancestors.
Not I. I've never been drawn to pain as a fashion statement. Oddly, just this morning, a couple of women at the gym were discussing the pros and cons of "permanent makeup", especially "lipstick" and "eyeliner".
I've had cosmetic tattoos in the past and have become numb to needles in my face. Years ago, I had my lips tattooed with absolutely no numbing cream (not by choice). Right after it was done, when I glanced at
my face in the mirror, I looked like I went through a car windshield.
@Omen6Actual Some people do seem to enjoy the pain. I am not that brave.
@DarwinistOne The women at the gym seemed to have a couple of friends who'd had cosmetic tattoos and liked the convenience. How did you like it after the healing? Do you have to get them freshened up on a regular basis?
I don't enjoy the pain, but for me it's just not all that bad. It's worth it to me.
Never. I've never gotten a tattoo...and although I'm not opposed to getting one, I've never seen one that I want to die with. I'd never ever see anything I want on my face unless I happened to end up in prison, then I'd have to probably get some teardrops under my eyes.
