Since today is my birthday, one of my sisters sent me on Whatsapp "I hope God will give you what HE knows you need".... She is alright and we get along well and gotta respect her tenacity. I just responded with a smiley face.....

She remembered, big deal. I say she took the moment to be condecending and I wouldn't have it. I would have said, "Really? What I need is for you to get off my back amd respect my opinion." But that's just me lol. My oldest brother is a born again christian and used to shove his shit down my throat all the time, until I snapped back at him. We didn't talk for over a year, and then he realized what a prick he was being and apologized. We have since grown closer and respect each others opinions very much. In fact we often have really great discussions about life and religion.
So be you. Stand up for yourself. And I hope you have a fantastic day!

Thanks !!! Things like this can go either way any given day. Today I got her message in a mood of yeah whatever... As I have made a coment below, it does still shock me a little bit how deep those ideas are buried within her. On the other hand, as it had been pointed out already, she remembered. She always does but not always throw this stuff at me... Not sure what kind of day she is having, we live too far away for each other
That's how I would have handled it, unless there's context you're not giving out which doesn't seem to be the case.
One of the life skills that's important to have, is to learn what hills to die on / what battles to pick. A sibling who remembers your birthday and cares about you (despite how misguided their advice may be) is not usually something that's worth it to fight or make an example over.

Agree, that was kind of the point I was trying to make. I would never fight her for that, she is my sister. I am just surprised that after all these years she is still relentlessly hoping some day I will change
@IamNobody Lol well get used to it. I "fell away" a quarter century ago and my one brother who is still (1) alive and (2) devout still characterizes it as a "phase" or "misunderstanding" and drops the occasional hint. What else can they do when they believe "once saved always saved" and knew me as a devout believer. They don't have the luxury of claiming I was never a Real Christian. So that's the only explanation they can come up with. Dog forbid that I might have done it for considered, rational reasons!
