I used to think that religion was one of the biggest problems in the world. The problems of religion are obvious to all here. Now.... I'm not so sure. I am now less angry about the lies I was fed by religion and now I'm more upset about the lies I have been fed by the government.
NOW you got it.Read some history. Throughout history politics & religion supported each other. You wash my hand, I wash yours.
Finding my legs again. Government is a real disappointment to me. Many who serve in this capacity are not there to serve the public. What a shame.
They are part of the same population deception and control package.
"They"?
@Varn people behind the scenes of religion and government.
The unholy tri-murti. Religion, government and international finance.
@birdingnut ‘They’ need to be us.
Who and/ or what’s ‘the government?’ What I’ve determined is, it’s us.. It’s how we organize, educate and protect ourselves. I well remember Resident Reagan riding to the white house attacking ‘government.’ So, we don’t like the rules we’ve made? Or we don’t like rules we didn’t agree with..?
Even around here, it’s hardguys in the prime of their working years downing the societal safeguards and infrastructure protecting those less capable, who can’t stand playing by rules that don’t obviously benefit them.. Yes, they’ve a lot to learn, and may never become aware of that … as they constantly gripe..
Religion has long imposed rules thunk up by those having snuck up some secret ladder... It is a detriment to society because of that, and justifiably fought against. Elected representatives appoint bureaucrats who hire more, but within government - if it’s not working to the satisfaction of the majority, it can be revised at the next election, if not sooner by recall or impeachment.
Not so with religion, a different animal. Don’t mistake one for the other, and please look beyond the ‘government bad’ rhetoric of those who claim that ...until they’re elected..
Well, I can choose to not go to church, but I have little choice in my government. There is lots of words that say I have choice, but in the end, I just have to obey. The idea that my vote/voice matters..... well, I've never see it to be the case.
@mosuper Unless you live alone on an island ..there must be a way for people to govern themselves. I’m glad to be living within a democracy, as opposed to feudal times, but don’t know how much (more) time or energy I care to expend in an attempt to make our government more closely reflect my desires Religion’s an intrusion we don’t need, as it adversely affects my life on a daily basis..
That's our fore fathers identified in the founding documents a separation of church and state! Which in this day and age are being challenged daily!
Hi Bandit, I'm not sure I understand your comment. Do you mean that the problem with government is religion that is found inside government??
