And the logical next step is outlawing birth control, because you're preventing that "person" from coming into existence!
Truly the American Taliban. And they don't seem to see the resemblance.
@TheMiddleWay But we have plenty that do. Possession of burglar tools is a crime. Conspiracy is a crime. For the above law, suppose a woman only consults a doctor out of state; could she be charged with conspiracy to commit murder and locked up for the fetus' protection?
@TheMiddleWay I think although it is highly unlikely they would be successful, they will most likely still try.
Just wait until the holier than thous get their mistresses and daughters pregnant...any woman in Georgia who need a nice relaxing vacation is welcome in my home......
Georgia resident here. So disgusted with my state.
Me, too!!! I feel empathy for the both of us.
Should that sentence now extend to rapists?
Getting a woman pregnant without her consent is now a life sentence for the mother... It should be a death sentence for the rapist.
It makes perfect sense... in their world.
I think at the very least, a rapist should have to be fully (not half, but fully) financially responsible for any child that results from a rape, but shoudl not have any parental rights.
Make their finanical responsibility like a student loan. The debt never disappers until it is either paid or they die.
So in Georgia women do not have any rights over their own bodies!
This is true Fascism!
Run by a few males who are anti feminist and hateful of all minority’s!
All because they think it is the will of their imaginary alpha male in the sky... sigh.
Texas, Louisiana, and some others are doing the same.
Yes! All of those white males are anti feminist, Racists, being pimped by the wealthy and their corporations!
These are pure Fascists!
Who use religion to cover their megalomania!
@of-the-mountain Let us be absolutely crystal clear about this. It is NOT just men forcing this bullshit.
There are far too many holy-rollin' republican women pushing for this shit, too.
I really want to see mass law-breaking with this stuff. I want people to start saying "fuck you!", in public, to these assholes.
@KKGator
Yes!
Those women are so brainwashed that they think men are Kings and they want to be their queens!
Mental illness is a true problem among these Fascists!
Hitler and Mussolini also had women who supported their every move and action!
By the way I am not the enemy here!
@of-the-mountain I know you aren't. It wasn't my intention to imply otherwise.
I've always been extremely passionate about this subject.
I worked in women's clinics and did picket-duty for decades.
I'll fight/argue/debate anyone on the subject, anytime, anywhere.
If I could still drive, I'd be ferrying women to obtain safe, legal abortions wherever they needed to go to get them.
If I had the money, I'd be organizing, financing transportation, childcare, and
out-of-town accommodations for women needing abortions and being unable to get them where they live.
I'd be organizing ways to break such stupid fucking laws, and hiring a
phalanx of damned good attorneys to fight this bullshit through the courts.
Yes!
I have always wonder why these religious assholes
always want to save a fetus, but let the baby then die of malnutrition and lack of proper medical care!
When you ask them to pay for these children or adopt them they have so many fucked up reasons they can not!
These religious moronic idiots are fascists who are so blind that they would let the planet die do they can feel they are above the rest of us!
These are not humans but closet fascists who will cut off their nose to placate their leaders who use like fodder to enrich themselves!
The masses are just brain washed into to thinking they are superior to anyone not like them!
@of-the-mountain They will only be "ro-life" as long as it requires no actual real sacrifice on their own part. They, they will protect the fetus, but as soon as it is in the real world, they vanish.
It's a stupid law, and it doesn't go into effect until next year.
IF it's even still around by then.
Every one of these ridiculous "heartbeat" bills is going to get tied up
in the courts until they are all knocked down.
Funny, the states that are enacting them, really can't afford to be spending
the money it's going to take to fight for them in court.
I really wish the media made that more of a point of that when they report on it.
Let’s hope so!
trump and his republican Fascists cohorts are loading up the courts with overt Fascists judges!
This is the exact same thing Hitler and the National Socialist Workers Party did in 1933, loaded the courts with their own Fascists judges!
Here in Central Texas 13 republican judges ran unopposed in 2018 election!
They are like cockroaches now! It is becoming a time when they can not be eradicated off our shores!
@of-the-mountain I mentioned the stacking of the courts by conservatives in another post.
That's really the biggest reason McConnell and most of the republicans are still supporting 45. They're getting the judges that they want.
What's most frustrating is that women, particularly women in patriarchal type societies, often feel pressured into sexual intercourse, even unprotected intercourse. But no one demands responsibility of the men to make sure they are responsibly disseminating their "seed." Any conversation about limiting women from abortion should include a conversation about demanding responsibility from men who have impregnated women without ensuring that the woman wanted a child in the first place.
Or that it can be fiancially supported even if she does.
Absolutely! Hear! Hear! Well said!
I believe what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
And what about the sperm donor....would he be considered as putting the life of a child in danger? And so a contributor to the crime..... looks like his input would have to be considered a major part of the crime.
I'm beginning to think there's something being put in the water.or air that is effecting people in power......screwing up their thinking.....next thing ya know they'll be cutting off heads.....probably that "ole time religion," down in their souls.
it's not in the water. it's in the wallet.
g
@genessa trying to see the correlation
@HankSherman it's not a chemical making pols act nuts. it's money money money.

WTF, the inmates are really running that Looney bin aren't they?
I think that’s an insult to inmates. Inmates are being punished for the crimes they committed. These people are criminals and will likely not be punished for the atrocities they’ve visited on our society. They’ll likely retire to a ripe old age, while they’re progeny lives off the fat of what they stole from our country. But yes. Our government is run by fucktards,
58% of Americans think abortion should be legal in most cases. These anti-abortion bills are likely to backfire IMO.
The biggest reason McConnell is still supporting 45 is because of the number of conservative judges they've been ramming through the confirmation process.
The republicans really don't care about being "pro-life", but they DO care about pushing their agenda.
In Kansas the State supreme court ruled that abortion was protected under that state's constitution, which means even if Roe vs Wade gets overturned, abortion will still be legal there. Tha ruling happened about a month ago. I found ti funny when ti happened because Kansas is home to some of the most rabid and crazy Christian sects in the U.S.
I'm from Georgia and i thought it was an extremely bad bill. I'm against abortion but i don't think i have the right to tell other people what to do. The biggest problem that i had with churches was this. If you are gonna force people to have babies then you should be there when they have them helping them to pay for and raise the kid. It's easy to judge someone when you're not in their shoes. I say that i'm against abortion but to be frank if something happened and i did get someone pregnant than i didn't want to i'd probrably opt for an abortion that a lifetime of dealing with that person and paying child support. I'm just thankful that i didn't have to make that choice.
In Portugal is legal until 10th week of pregnancy.
I think it shoudl be legal up to the end of the 6th month. The fetus doesnt' develop enough of a nervous system to feel pain until the 7th month. After the 6th, mnth it shodul still be legal if he pregnancy endangers the life of the woman,or there is a velopmentl problem, such as "water on the brain" where teh feus would not result in a live and healthy birth.
ProChoice is not the opposite of ProLife. Look up AntiNatalism.
Wow...they don't seem to be worried about the SC slapping their legislation down. Some poor woman is going to be a side show having her life paraded in the media.
We need to get more progressive people to move to Georgia. Start changing the laws there.
