I just saw a post on FB asking for prayers for the removal of a brain tumor. Instead of asking god to bless the patient and in turn the doctor, why not ask why god allowed a tumor? He can't prevent it but can make it go away??
What do we have doctors for then? How dare you take all the praise away from the skilled surgeon when the surgery is successful!
Yeah. I remember when I was a reporter up north and a lady came in and gave me a big story about her child's miraculous recovery from a strawberry birthmark - a huge growth on the side of the kid's head. A team of surgeons and other specialists worked for hours to remove it and the kid lived.
It's a miracle! Praise god!
My headline read. Miracle baby? You decide!
Not really. I'm sure that the doctors are used to it and if make a them feel better about the situation who cares?
I've done a pretty good job of healing myself dislocations, breaks, infections for coming from an old pioneer family you and your family were the doctors. That said the only time I was attended to by a physician, a very good I might add, was a double broken mandible in a car accident requiring surgery. He was not a man of god either, so good work and advice is what healed me. No prayer needed.
Frustration at times, but not anger. It bothers me more when someone says that they think prayer is the answer to one's problems. I feel bad for those folks, living with false hope.
It's a way of exerting control over a situation that you have no control over or ability to effect. Most people that 'thank god' or 'pray to god' or whatever, will also thank their doctors. Blaming is a negative reaction.
Doesn't make me angry but does not means they are correct. I reckon they have the right or priviledge to say anything.
I usually post telling them how blasphemous they are because they are questioning what their omnipotent Gawd has sent them, obviously on purpose, and how dare they question it/him.
Buwahahahahaaaaaa!
Maybe they ae doing it to justify their religious belief. If something good happened it MUST have been God, mustn't it?
As an aside; From posts on this site I am getting an idea of how inaccesable healthcare is in the US.
Here in the UK you can buy a years travelling insurance for everywhere in the world EXCEPT the US. For that you have to pay more for medical cover.
Yes. It angers me a lot. It's a slap in the face to all the people who work so hard and give up so much.
