While there are those who have religious beliefs , and those who believe in what science tells us , science routinely changes it's mind about about everything , with proof to back what ever the current information tells us .

It's not a matter of changing it's mind but simply finding more information. One major problem with science is that it needs funding and too often that comes from industries. There is often a major conflict of interest going on.
