Last night my dogs were in combat at the fenceline with something that totally sounded like a giant kazoo. Anybody have a clue of what that might have been?

Ratcoon or armadillo, or possibly a mix of the two

does this sound like a giant kazoo?

that sounds like a didjeridoo to me HA even though the sound seemed too big I am leaning toward a porcupine

A kazooopotomous. No clue.

I am standing there looking into the dark and an anteater comes to mind which I know was not possible

there are porcupines around here.THis is the sound of a baby.I don't know how loud a pissed adult could get. There were no quills exchanged in the interaction and it went on back and forth for at least 5 minutes

it would have been what sounded like an 80 lb baby raccoon. Somebody sent me a link of a badger screaming. That was really impressive but did not have that kazoo sound

@btroje 80 lb... Lynx?

@Lukian wish I could have taped it. THere were some screams intermixed.THere are bobcats around here but rarely seen. THe drought is bad enough animals are moving into incommon areas. I will try to find a bobcat sound

@btroje this website says porcupines make a kazoo sound:
[blog.nwf.org]

@Lukian thats the closest sound I have heard to it Maybe it mutated from the radiation at Los ALamos or something blowing up from WHite Sands

@btroje A MUTANT!

@Lukian makes sense in my neighborhood
