@Insectra That's really cool. I rarely see them here. I've seen them while hiking on the AT. Is this in your yard?

terrific shots, @Insectra! you nailed it again - this is a porcupine, yes? i didn't even know they can climb trees. the australian echidna can't, as far as i know.

@Insectra, yes, the same applies sadly to our echidnas - not often that i can watch one bumbling across the road or up a slope, but more frequently having ended up as "road kill". be alert when driving through the bush, folks, & slow down at dawn & dusk - please!
